DarkRaven123 602 Posted August 8, 2012 It's ok.There is no information on the stand alone, aside from the fact that it has been announced. It probably won't be released for a year, or a few months at least. Some people are guessing it will cost $15.

SmashT 10907 Posted August 8, 2012 (edited) Nobody knew the game was going to go standalone, if it weren't for its huge success, a million players in 4 months it probably never would have, stop acting like they tried to scam you, the mod has reached a point both in terms of player numbers and engine wise where it needs to go standalone in order to improve. Dingus (DayZ) 429 Posted August 8, 2012 Who knew it would get 1mil+ players? No one suspected counter strike would go as crazy as it did either.

SmashT 10907 Posted August 8, 2012 (edited) what? i just say that the information is no in the front page i probably buy the game i love to contribute with good game developmentsIt was only announced today, maybe Rocket should have spent his time working on a time machine, then he could have told us all months ago that he was going to make a mod that gained a million players in 4 months entirely on word of mouth. Zymi 64 Posted August 8, 2012 (edited) I hate these threads. "I paid $30 for Alpha"You bought Combined Operations to play a mod in Alpha. Of course you were going to have to buy it when it became standalone. Edited August 8, 2012 by Zymi

senor_rall 5 Posted August 8, 2012 (edited) http://arstechnica.c...dalone-release/YESSSSSSS"But there will be some changes to playability brought on by the move from mod to game. Rebuilding from the ground up with the latest version of Bohemia's Real Virtuality engine (which was shown to great effect ) will also allow the standalone DayZ to have more diffuse nighttime lighting, rather than the practically unplayable near-pitch-blackness of the current mod."Thank you for clearing that up. Zymi 64 Posted August 8, 2012 I read it. You wanted to know before you bought CO to play Dayz that one day it'd become a standalone game. It was speculated for awhile but only just announced.Hopefully the next time he makes a mod he puts on the front page "This mod is so good that you shouldn't buy the game it's based off to play the Alpha and assist development because It'll become a standalone game sometime in the future."
