Free tip for all you noobs out there: If you ever find yourself spotting someone and wish to better your chances at making them a bit more honest, learn to say "we" instead of "I" when you hail them on direct chat. As in "WE can see you right there. WE'RE friendly, do not move any closer though or WE will blow you away."

This has saved my ass numerous times. 3/4 of the time they scurry away, 1/4 of the time they want to be let in the building because they need help or supplies.

Edit: Of course this doesn't work if you are the only two people in the server and the guy you spotted has half a brain.

I have yet to see anyone ever reply on the direct chat. This is why I tend to avoid civilization.
