Li1 GH0ST 7 Posted August 8, 2012 the other day i was playin Dayz and everytime i shot an animal i never got my bolts back and was havin a hard time finding more, so i thought to myself what if you had a pile of wood and knife you could make 1-2 wooden arrows that would last 1-3 shots before being destroyed so i posted my idea in the wrong forum (im that smart) however some other people posted on my old postPvtJelo suggested you would need tin cans for metal tips, magikacoffe suggested a quiver to hold a certain amount of arrows in,So just to recap on the post...- arrows can be made using some wood and tin cans- quiver or some sort of bag made to carry bowsIf you have any other ideas post here i would like to see what people come up withand i put in names so i did not steal ideas.

WalBanger 11 Posted August 8, 2012 (edited) its fine as it is, i just needs to be less inventory intensive (as in stacks of bolts or a seperat bag for them)and the bolts should go into the dead persons inventory or something like that so you can re gain them. The crafting of ammos is intresting and i kind of like it, but then it would be to easy to get ammo??? maybe put a 10minute crafting time on each bolt???of course you can stop if you see a zombie/survivor coming etc.. HydrogenHats 17 Posted August 8, 2012 I think that in standalone a quiver should be added, which is like a magazine, and can hold 5-25 arrows depending on how generous Rocket is. While you have this equipped (it could take up your secondary slot?) you'll automatically collect arrows within a 1m radius (simply run over your targets to get arrows back) and they'd stack until you hit maximum. tbird9412 14 Posted August 8, 2012 This would be good. However I think scrap metal and feathers from chickens would be better than wood.
Li1 GH0ST 7 Posted August 8, 2012 This would be good. However I think scrap metal and feathers from chickens would be better than wood. animals are hard to find scrap metal is a bit hard to find i want a easy way to make it however it breaks easy
libertine 351 Posted August 8, 2012 Would be nice and realistic if crossbow bolts worked like magazines and were able to fit many in one slot.
WalBanger 11 Posted August 8, 2012 animals are hard to find scrap metal is a bit hard to find i want a easy way to make it however it breaks easysorry maybe i read this wrong, but are you saying you want it easy to make ammo???Emmm i dont know what to say to that because:-1) tin cans are well easy to find (infact enoyingly to easy)2) Chickens are around enough as well3) have you ever tried to make a bolt that would fly straight?? NOT EASY!!IF this was put into place, it should be really hard to do and time consuming, ITS FREE AMMO, and reusable at that. The only things i would like to see changed is:-1) ammo is picked up everytime (if you go to the right place.... if you miss by a mile and dont know where it went the tough)2) there should be 3-4 bolts strapped to the crossbow that reload a BIT quicker than now and if you want to get more ammo to fill up them 3-4 once you fired them then you have to spend a LONGER time moving them 1 by 1 to the crossbow.3) they should stack somewhere.... weither thats in a quiver that takes up a slot OR you just have 3-4 in 1 slot i dont know or mind.I do like the idea of crafting BUT it shouldnt be really easy and quick.A crossbow is an "elite" weapon and should stay that way. Scott Pilgrim 65 Posted August 8, 2012 I like this idea, especially the quiver. I always use a Crossbow while keeping it quiet, sneaking around, protecting friendlies ect... I don't like firing loud guns unless there's some serious shit about to go down, or I'm in a tight spot with Zombies. I haven't used it against a player, and I hope I don't have to but does anyone know how it goes against players?
