Motard 8 Posted August 7, 2012 With the recent increase in hackers and dupers, how about starting weekly or even monthly 100% wipes (tents, player equipment, vehicles)? This is an alpha after all and everyone here is a tester, how can we test a product after it has drifted so far from it's intention. Until the hacking and item duping can be taken care of something needs to be done, there is way too much equipment in circulation now that shouldn't be. It's not going to stop the hacking and duping but at least it will keep things under control, and would also keep players along the coast longer, allowing for more player interaction and from what I can take of this, it seems that this is one of the key points of this game/experiment. lillen 6 Posted August 7, 2012 this would be terrible for all the new ppl that might just finaly got like a good set of weapons and loot, + most ppl ive meet ingame are assholes and just kill u on sight -_- so it would just be like a total massacer on the beach if this happend. I like the idea for the cars and such to respawn every week atleast so some1 cant just be hogging all of them on like a area outside the map. because i got like all the end game gear, and i have still not find a single car/bike or anything not even a broken one i can repair with parts... This isn't a full version game that someone just bought, it's an alpha of a mod, everything should be about testing the current version for finding out what works and what's broken. How can you test a game that's already in a broken status (hacking/duping), wipe it every so often so people actually have a chance to experience the real gameplay and the developers can actually get some decent info to make the required changes. TRIGGA (DayZ) 2 Posted August 8, 2012 Totally agree, I think every account needs to be reset and all tents and vehicles reset.....How can we test the game when the vehicles are off map and cant be used, or stashed away.... and with all the doubling of weapons in tents etc starting again on a fresh playing field will be a relief until it builds up again. Kellexx 4 Posted August 8, 2012 Let me get this straight... you're concerned about people hacking and exploiting to get items, so you want to destroy everything that everyone has to stop this? That wouldn't help at all. Anyone with the script/hack tools can get their items instantly. If all the characters got wiped, they'd get geared out completely and then walk around shooting everyone that has a crappy shotgun or Makarov. If anything, wiping characters would benefit cheaters, not deter them.I agree that the hacked gear is a problem, but this wouldn't fix it at all. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Like I said, this is an alpha, everyone here is basically volunteering their time to play this version and help work out the bugs. This is nothing more then a test for the standalone game, I'm just putting out a suggestion that might help get things changed and tweaked. I never said this was a fix to the hacker/duper problem but it would make it easier to pin point the offenders, if the server get's wiped and all of a sudden a player has all the top tier gear, well, they gather the data from that player and that should narrow down the amount of info the developers have to go through in order to fix that issue. It all comes down to the fact that everyone playing is a tester. Why are people getting so attached to their gear and character? NO.very nice rebuttal! you provided a logical point of view that has altered my perspective, I completely agree!*end sarcasm*and by the way, i'm running with a well outfitted set and several tents full of backup gear, so no...that's not the reason either.....this is not end game, it's an alpha, how many times do people need to be told?
