So who else is going to stop playing dayz now

Recommended Posts

I've not encountered that many hackers actually maybe only 2-3 times in 4 months

I saw zero my first 2 1/2 months. However, I've seen about 8 in the last 10 days with 4 being in the last 72 hours.

Still, I love the game and will keep playing. But, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't playing less and having less fun because of the constant possibility of being part of a mass teleport or shot by an invisible player. Sadly, I wish it was "only" hacked weapons and vehicles. One at least has a chance against that.

Previously, I never was too bothered at all by the glitches, loot hoppers, dupers, DC-ers, and spawn killers. Those were things that might occasionally annoy me, but never affected how often I played or my enjoyment of the game and I realized they were either due to the game being in alpha or simply a byproduct of a persistent game set up (which I love!). But these recent mass-griefing hacks have become too common, too rampant. It's so bad now the scripters/hackers are crowding each other out and many are hitting even low pop servers.

I truly hope the stand alone will allow the devs to make the integrity of the game a top priority. Personally, I think they know what's currently going on and, without being able to manipulate source code (it is only a mod), have severely limited options. No, they can't stop all the hacks, but stopping 90% of them would make a big, big difference. It's just a hacking free for all right now.

Let's hope the stand alone comes sooner rather than later. I would happily pay for the mod as a standalone (in it's current state) if some semblence of control over the hacks were included.

You must be playing in empty servers, then. I've encountered a blatant hacker (teleports) every single day for the last week on servers with 30+ players.

This. Is why I never play in a full/near full server. Ive had MAYBE 1 script kiddie encounter in a little less than a month of playing.

I say maybe, because it could have very well been a simple bug in the game that killed me, but numerous others died nearly right after me and before me.

Give the people control of their servers, and dev toolboxes to create anti cheat plugins. That will fix your hacking (scripting). Dayzdev is too afraid of losing potential buyers in the future to do anything about it now. Scripters are a game breaker, and server OWNERS can't do anything about it for fear of being blacklisted. Set your servers up like minecraft. That model is doing exceptionally well and there is FAR more data in a minecraft server being handled than a DayZ server. if you disagree with that statement then you've obviously never owned and maintained a minecraft server with more than 1 person on it.

Your hive should ONLY be used to save data values of character progression, not every single thing on a server. The server owners can handle that just fine. Think about it.

Eventually people will be tired of having to answer to you, dayzdev. Release the mod/game/standalone, and let people buy it and use it how they wish. (single player)

Only playing for fun right now.

Since the last 4 Million Times of Dying and then rearming back to 100%, driving every vehicle and the chopper hours and hours it's getting boring. And since the tents are now AS-50 mass production facilities everything is getting blown to pieces. Now im back to normal ArmA since every little patch takes a month to get released.
