See no reason why i should i quit now, just because standalone was announced..I like the game... ye hackers, bugs, duping.. Damn I am an Alfa tester, even in someway paid to do the hard frustrating job.. :D

And then, after all i enjoy all that knowing what great concept stays behind the whole dayz project..

You must be playing in empty servers, then. I've encountered a blatant hacker (teleports) every single day for the last week on servers with 30+ players. In a Machinima interview, Rocket said that an end of September release is very likely. So, I doubt he or BI or even BattleEye are willing to do anything drastic now to prevent the cheaters. The money is in the standalone now that they've milked the tie-in mod.

I've only encountered one so far, and I was lucky to get out of the situation alive. But I'm sure I'll encounter more as I play. I'm just not concerned about it as I know it's an alpha and not a final product. :)

On topic though: I haven't played DayZ for a while apart from the Lingor offshoot.

I'll have a look again when the first Alpha/Beta/whatever of the standalone makes it out, if its a lot more solid and thought out i'll stick with it, if its still a mil-shooter with a pinch of zombies I might just file it with the rest of the 'great ideas, poorly executed' games.

I don't know why people like the OP continue to keep on with the sky is falling type of crap. I think people who would like to leave should do so and go standalone in a corner while the rest of us continue to play.
