SteveLord 32 Posted August 7, 2012 (edited) Thought I would get on and take a long run to the east side of the map, since my buddies left off there. Within 5 minutes, I started taking fire. I ran into the closest bush line and was zig zagging. I didnt get hit. After a little bit, I dove into the grass and watched behind me. After about 10 minutes, I was about to get up....then I saw 2 guys sneaking around looking for me. Luckily, I was in a good bush and had my ghillie suit. Boy was my heart pumping. So much that I ignored them (probably could have stoood up and shot them both) and stayed put for another 15 minutes. Took off to the south and didnt see or hear them anymore.Mind you, this was with about 5 other people in the server...and I just happen to come across 2 of them.Highlight of my night. Ardenaline was going and was I glued to my screen. Reminded me of my military and airsoft days. Love this game. :) Edited August 7, 2012 by SteveLord
guidez 180 Posted August 7, 2012 I seriously have not played a game like DayZ that got my adrenaline going like you mentioned. Sometimes when entering the game from window mode I accidentally shoot and freak myself out.
Womb Raider 92 Posted August 7, 2012 Good story mate, have some beans. I agree with you OP, I love Day Z, its about the only gaming experience I've had in which you get so into the game. I love any moment I have a PVP experience, its always fun.
SteveLord 32 Posted August 7, 2012 (edited) I havent even had a kill yet. The only exception being a teammate who was hit by a stray bullet as I unloaded on a passing car once. :PI kept debating whether to try and hunt them down. But I became attached to my gear and decided to play it safe. When I ran off and hid a second time, I did just happen to plop down next to a tent with some goodies. w00t. :D Edited August 7, 2012 by SteveLord
Baka Survivor 20 Posted August 7, 2012 Yes you do became attched to your gear and toon if you've worked hard for it. And it makes the playing so intense. Permadeath is great in its harshness, its always about decisions, one poor decision and its off to the beach with flashlight again.

We then went hiding in the forest to check the map and my friend tabbed out for a second. When he tabbed in he emptied his AKM in my general direction and I, still reading the map, almost had a heart attack. That got my adrenaline pumping and I was still shaking 30 minutes later. SteveLord 32 Posted August 7, 2012 I didn't believe my friends when they kept saying to be careful even on our low pop server. As big as the map is, you'd think it would be rare to come across people.
amaROenuZ 144 Posted August 7, 2012 I get shot at regularly on low pop servers. My buddy calls me paranoid, but even though I'm the one who always gets shot at, I'm the one who always survives getting shot at.
