Dayz is confirmed to go standalone!

Hopefully this convinces all the people who purchased ARMA 2: CO just for DayZ to actually put some time into ARMA and see what a fantastic game it is and the huge amount of content at their fingertips. Wonder how 'heavily discounted' this stand-alone version will be, a lot of people won't be happy about having to seemingly buy again i bet.

I'd prefer a DLC-Mod thing rather than a stand alone.

From a standalone perspective you could keep databases seperated, so if BIS decides to play with the weapons damage like last time it doesn't affect DayZ.

From the DLC-Mod perspective you can still play vanilla and other mods with the same game you bought from the shelf. Making libmod a standalone was a bad idea imo...i would have bought it as a DLC, what kept me from buying the standalone was the lack of gear/vehicles that were in WW2 which made it look like a pre beta mod rather than a standalone and of course the bugs...
