Reverting ARMA 2 from 95660 to 95417

Recommended Posts

So I updated AMRA 2 yesterday using DayZ Commander only to find that no server supports it. I know it said that during the update AMRA spesificly told me there was no way to revert changes whilst installing the update but I'm desperate. If I download the 95417 patch will it work?

You can revert using ftp://downloads.bistudio.com/arma2.com/update/beta/ARMA2_OA_Build_95417.zip, just run the .exe

If you want to use steam overlay on Commander after this:

Go to the ...\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta -folder, and copy the OA.exe file from there to the location:

..\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\

I can't seem to find the post on the BI forums but they said recently that sometimes Beta Patches will change something in the actual Arma 2 OA files and you may not be able to revert the beta patch.The only way to really fix it then is to do a complete reinstall of OA. They said it will rarely happen but sometimes it will. Just giving fair warning.

Soo far all beta patches have been backwards compatible as long as they have the same first 2 number (1.62.xxxxx)

All 1.62.xxxxx patches will be backwards compatible with all older 1.62.xxxxx patches.

When there is a patch that upgrades to 1.63.xxxxx you can no longer play on older servers.

Only if the beta changes the base version of the client.

Like 1.62.xxxx -> 1.63.xxxx. Both 95417 and 95660 are 1.62.xxxx patches. I didn't have any problems reverting.
