Hey guys, im new to playing Dayz and I find it a pretty good game, Anybody have any Idea about loosing your progress everytime you leave a server. Is there anyway possible to save it or keep it?

If you're playing on a Sanctuary or non hive server, you can lose all progress.

Picking a regular server will help.

So your saying if I play on a server with regular difficulty I wont lose anything?:)

They save every 2 minutes I have being told. I am normally pretty close to were I was when I logged off.

or same place when camping =)

Hmm ,no not exactly . Its not the difficulty , Servers that are not official Dayz servers won't save your data to the hive.

The hive is where your data resides when you are not playing.

So how do I know if its an official Dayz server?

Sorry for so many questions but I get so far and then end up not keeping my stuff:(

If the server name says 'private hive' in the title, then it is not an offical dayz server.. playing on it will not affect your offical hive character, but, no other server will have that character info.

As this guy said, if you see the words "private hive" or "Sanctuary", those are not supported servers. That said most servers are supported but you will find these littered throughout the server list here and there.

I understand that cracked versions of the game are notorious for this happening too.

Also, what does the giant X mean next to the server name?

Everytime i press these servers nothing happens.
