I'm assuming as many as the server can hold.

Not being a smartass, I just don't think there is a set number.

There are a ton of variables that can limit or expand that number.

Most i've seen is 1200 or so.

I think it depends on how many players, and how many of those players are in areas that zombies spawn.

So if there are 50 of 50 on a server, and they are all in spawn areas, the numbers will be quite high.

I have seen less zombies than players many times.
