are custom face skins allowed/banable?

so ive seen some of these custom face templates popping up on reddit et. now i love this personally cus gives you that little bit more uniqueness to everyone else in the game but a friend says you can get banned for it because its classed as "editing the data files" and i dont particularly want to use one if i can get banned for it.

Not worth the risk, any data editing could be considered dodgy.

I doubt you can get banned for it. Just make sure the file is under 100 kb or others won't be able to see it.

i wouldnt trust anything unless it has been tested and proven by atleast 2,000 people :) i got the Zombie Face Skin thru arma and its good enough for me :)

I use a camo face, but it's an Arma face that's already in the database.

a camo face? ive been through all the faces on the profile editor and i couldn't find any apart from some face with blue paint on it

You need to locate your profile file which is found in the "Arma 2 Other Profiles" folder which is located in "My Documents". Then you need to open the ARMA2OAPROFILE file with notepad, find where it shows your face and add _camo4 to it, or any number between 1-6 of your choice. Then select save. For example, mine shows face="Face101_camo4";
