    Scripted Activity Animations

Animations would be great. My question is, would these animations be in first person or third person for the person performing the action?
  3. I'll admit I've been playing on private hive servers which require some type of white listing to avoid hackers. It seems to be the only thing to deter hackers until the standalone.

    DayZ Standalone Confirmed

Rocket said himself he doesn't see the full release of DayZ ever costing more than 30 dollars, and he's mentioned a few times 15 Euros for DayZ alpha, but that's not official yet.

I'm with you on that one, the grass doesn't even need to be good looking far away, it just needs to do it's job of concealing.

    Hotfix Build 1.7.2.5 Rolling Update

I never said "it's an alpha" I said we are alpha testers, we aren't customers, it is our job to test the game. Though we are free to come and go as we please. (The message below is not specifically just for you, it is meant as a general statement.) My suggestion is that if you are getting graphical artifacts and you have already posted what settings you are using, what beta patch you are on, and information regarding your graphics card (what card, what drivers, etc). And haven't been able to find a solution via tweaking your settings, then you should go play something else until the next patch. A majority of what we are seeing are people just blatantly complaining that they have artifacts, yet they don't post any useful information at all. Rocket and the dev team are busy, that much is obvious, when the patch is ready they will release it, and we can resume testing/playing.

    Hotfix Build 1.7.2.5 Rolling Update

Let me just say this. Why don't I get the graphical artifacts, but some of you do. You don't know right? Do you think rocket knows? It's going to take some time, this is a mod and we are alpha testers, we aren't customers. I know, we bought arma 2 combined operations, that doesn't entitle us to anything but the ability to play arma 2 combined operations. There are plenty of other games out there to kill time. I'm sure you all have other games as well. Why don't you take some time off from DayZ, go have some fun, and come back when the patch is out.

    DayZ Standalone Confirmed

21 dollars is pretty high for alpha/beta, If I'm not mistaken minecraft is $26.95 as it is now. The plan is you buy it low in alpha, and you never have to pay again even when it's released. Rocket said he doesn't see DayZ being more than $30 (when it is complete), so I wouldn't worry about the price.

    DayZ Standalone Confirmed

The standalone is going to be released in Alpha, I don't know why you are under the impression that all the bugs will instantly be fixed.

building a DayZ pc.... need advice

Though it's always nice to have the option to do so down the road when you've learned how. So I'd recommend spending the little extra cash now, especially when already spending $1000, but that's just my take on it.

So OP, do you have anything to say so far? Without any further information I can't advise you more than I already have.

building a DayZ pc.... need advice

As much as I'd like to say that this would run on maximum settings, it won't. I have a gtx 560 ti overclocked to 1ghz and I do not get 60fps with AA turned on, which I assume OP would like. That said it's still a good set up, and I'd recommend it, though you have a lot of unnecessary/price hardware there. for a single graphics card, a 550w psu will be fine, the motherboard you selected uses the p67 chipset which is outdated, I'd suggest either a z77 or a z68 chipset, z77 being newer. I'd also suggest at least 8gb of ram. Did a little editing on the build I linked to trim down the cost, here's what I've come up with now. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ewuh Sadly though, this will not run with everything maxed without dropping below 60 fps, you're going to need to commit more money to the budget if you want something that will max it and not drop below 60fps.

I'm sorry but that is completely wrong for most pc gamers. Unless you budget is severely limited, you are not going to want to play lower than 1080p, especially when you are building a new rig.

building a DayZ pc.... need advice

Something like this would be good. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ewtA Edit: changed some parts. If you want better hardware than this you are going to have to raise your budget. The CPU is the best you'll need for gaming, if you want a better video card it's going to be upwards of 400 dollars. If you have a case, and dvd drive you will be within budget. other wise it looks to be a little over budget.

Do you have a Monitor (hopefully 1080p) and windows 7 already.
