Question about camouflage

Recommended Posts

Whenever I'm lying in high grass, with a ghillie suit on, I feel pretty invisible, I can hardly see myself lying there.

But when I look into the far distance, I notice that the grass isn't loaded there, because it's too far away.

Does that mean other players can spot me pretty easily from a distance, because I'm not hidden in grass?

Thats an awesome tought. Really. It's true, the far landscapes don't render sometimes and the grass isn't there. If your laying in the grass and a guy, who's 500m or more away from you and watching trough his binocs could see you. Or not? Anyone knows the answer to this? :o

Yeah, because I often wonder where to hide. Even tree's and bushes are less detailed when viewed from far away, so ghillie suits are pretty useless from a distance, I suppose?

Works pretty well up close on people stuck in First Person View. I was laying next to a wall with nothing but a hatchet and a ghillie and they walked right by me. I thought it was because of my call of "friendly" but I later realized my mic was off.

The grass disappears at a distance for each player. So in the grass, yes, they can see you. And easily within sniper range.

You're not safe in the grass unless they are very close or inattentive.

That's why people find bushes, and trees to cover them. The grass doesn't help you.

stick to trees and bushes if you want your ghillie to be fully effective, people can see people laying in the open easily from distance as like others have said, the grass is only a locally drawn graphic

Yes. It is true. Watched a guy low crawl through a grazzy field for about a total of 600m, he stuck out like he was running. The only thing stopping me from killing him was the lack of the right tool for the job (new life - M1014). But he was exposed. Sure, he was staying off the zombie radar, but I could see him through my binos like there wasn't a single blade of grass.

Out.

This is indeed the most effective way.
