Player Revival

Recommended Posts

At first I thought : Hell no, when you're dead you're dead.

But I thought of it, and in the end it could work and give more depth and teamplay in DayZ.

Maybe give different chance of reviving successfully depending on the time you have been dead, negative blood level (at -6000 it's really unlikely someone can reanimate you, like 0.5% chance) and just make it random so that it should be a really tense situation when you're trying to reanimate someone.

+1 for this idea.

The defibs shouldnt be very rare at all. I think that the defibs should work on a chance. In real life theres not guarantee that defibs will work, so why cant it be like that ingame. A random chance system for difibs. So lets expand on the chance part of this alittle bit more. For example if your out in the middle of a field there would be less chance of the defibs working. But if you were in a hospital it would higher the odds of the defibs working by alot. Anyway just my 2 cents :)

+1 will give you another chance to not lose you're stuff tho the guy with the defiblator might get killed so you need to be able to loot the guy is dead even while he is in that currect conditon

normaly a defi wouldnt be need so revive someone its used to stop ventricular fibrillation wich apears in 85% of the first minuts of a cardiac arrest but a cardio pulmonale reanimation would always be needed and even could do the job alone it also would be need to make the blood transfusion working during a cardiac arrest

bassicly there should be a way to reanimate without a defi having a defi only would make it more effective

the most reasonable procces would be

Step 1. Bandage the wound to prevent further blood loose

Step 2. Give blood transfusion to refill blood stand and stabilize blood pressure

Step 3. Start cardio pulmonale reanimation to start blood circulation and hope it will run further on its own

Step 4 Optional. use defi to reset hartbeat and get rid of possible ventricular fibrillation

Step 5 if still unconscious give epipen to raise bloodpressur and oxygen saturation to ensure conscious

so revivng would be possible but very time consuming and not with a 100% change wich leaves the group vulnerable

a defi would raise the chance of a sucsses and prevents after-effects like sudden unconscious, pain and short-windedness also a certain risk of broken bones during the cardio pulmonale reanimation

Read the first page, not bothering with all of them but I think this should only be implemented if a new damage system is implemented. I don't want to headshot someone with my CZ only to have someone shock them back up, I mean come on they're missing a brain.

Did I already mention here that longer unconciousness would bring all the gameplay-effects of this proposal without the twist of "defibs dont revive people that have half an AK-mag in them"?

Unless you are having a heart attack, using a defibrillator is going to kill you. Despite what media would have you believe, it is not a magic cure all. It basically only works if you heart is quivering irregularly (fibrillation) by forcing the heart to momentarily stop so it can resume a normal rhythm by itself.

If you get shot enough to die and thus warrant some kind of resurrection, you are going to need a trained trauma team, a fully equipped surgery room to have any chance. I don't think this fits in with the atmosphere of the mod at all. In an otherwise mostly "realistic" and harsh world an almost pseudo magically item to bring you back to life after suffering multiple bullet wounds or zombie bites seems incredibly out of place.

If you want a resurrection item, I suggest pixie dust, you can't prove it isn't real and unlike a defibrillator it could do something besides help a heart attack victim who isn't yet dead (and possibly kill someone isn't).
