Dead Villages?

So, as i started playing Dayz today, i found myself spawned at the coast, near little lighthouse( it was night), at the distance i saw a village, so i started going there.As i reached it,i crawled past the zombies and found myself at the middle of the village.So as i tried to get some loot, i searched for houses i could go in and get some loot, but there werent any!In the whole village i found nothing but empty cans, and got myself killed.Is they supposed to be that empty, or wasnt i looking carefully enough?

Sounds like some bad luck. Keep an eye out for barns for good start up weapons to defend yourself.

It depends on a couple factors.

First of all, the HIVE might have been messing up and spawning shitty loot. (it happens -- bad coding)

Second of all, and more than likely, you were in a shitty town and that is all there is there. Go to Cherno or Electro the bigger cities for better gear. Or, go up North to find the best gear.

Go further inland, some of the coastal villages don't spawn much and there's about 2 enterable buildings in most.

Get familiar with the building types and you'll be collecting stuff pretty quickly.

Yea, well im sticking to the roads and trying to reach some bigger places, but the problem is, that i have no gun, and absolutely no weapon.Only things that i have are bandages, and a flashlight, so i cant really fight any1.I even havent found any food or medicine , not to talk about guns.Luckily, have only met zombies this far, but theyre pain in the ass.Oh, anyways thanks for the tips.

Hills and buildings are your friends when Zeds chase, lose LOS (line of sight) and your O.K. up steep hills they will walk slower. do a zig zag maneuver up hills and you'll lose them.

Go and find a map online and study the areas and buildings, if you know what to look for you'll have a weapon real quick.

I did a lot of reading and looking stuff up when I started, watching Youtube vid's is great for tips and tricks.

Asking for info can dull the game sometimes, I found it more fun to run around and get my own bearings (You wouldn't believe my joy when i found an in game map for the first time)
