Let the "hive" report what everyone is doing......

Recommended Posts

This is why it is a great idea for Rocket to tell Bio to let them see the names of people getting killed, you were killed by "this person", or "this person" was teleported by "this person", or the flying cows are being created by "this person". This would tell you who is mass killing people or anyone that is cheating and then the admins can ban these people and Rocket can perma ban the ip's so these people can not re purchase DayZ. As you already know you can see the persons name on friendly fire so why not just make it so everyone can see what everyone is doing from the HIVE? Simple soltuion and it would not be hard to just code into the Battle Eye because friendly fire is already coded in.

You think that is simple? Imagine how many hours tweaking and making new code for something like this.

The hive is a 3rd party database, it can only report what happens on a database level, not client. Whatever you see on easy servers such as "X killed by Y" are reported by the server, which is client, not the hive.

In order for the hive to report kill messages, it would have to read deaths from the database, then report it to the server for the server to report on the clients, thats a lot of data processing, for somethign that the server is already capable of doing.

Not long with a dedicated team working on it, I'm sure. This however is not the reality.

It would be nice to have "Script Executed by X, script contents saved to file: guid-timestamp.log" show up in the RPT.

The Arma engine was never meant for online competitive play, therefore many of the protections and prevention mechanisms simply do not exist.

As for IP Bans, this will only work for people who have static IPs, a minority of people, and is a useless method of banning people.

Introduction of a HARDWARE GUID and PLAYER GUID combination will assist somewhat, doesn't matter how many keys you buy if you still have the same (Mother board/hard disk/ram/gpu take your pick) you're banned.

A bit like Punkbusters HWGuid Ban.

HWID bans arent really effective either, you can easily bypass them.

well you can see who killed you by friendly player no? why not jyst have it set to player kills player, atleast if you see someone mass killing people you know who it is. You seriosuly think Bio doesn't want 1 million people purchasing the next dayz on the arma engine you need to recheck yourself. They solf 1 million extra copies of arma II because of DayZ. you really think thhey are not concerned about cashing in more from the full release down the road. They will fix this problem sooner or later but sooner would show they mean business and appreciate our support.
