Check v-sync?

Update drivers?

Check graphic card settings?

Make sure Vsync isn't on and try again.

Also, don't forget that laggy servers can actually make the client get FPS lags.

It has nothing to do with hes hardware or hes software. The engine is crap and it only uses two cores of your cpu.

He can define the engine to properly detect 4 cores with "-cpuCount=4"

Yes same for me. Sometimes i got luck and it runs smooth but mostly it just hurts my eyes with 25 frames. I gave up trying to find a fix and blame the terrible engine.

Just add it to your launch options in steam.

Or to your ArmA 2 .exe if you're not running through steam.

(Just paste it in the end of "start in" under "properties" )

Right click your ArmA 2 OA, Properties, Set Launch Options.

Nevermind, you said without steam.

makes no sense to me. explain it as if I'm a 10 year old

Those are basically parameters you can add in addition to the "-CpuCount=4" one. You add them in the shortcut of whatever you use to launch DayZ.

Blindingsun, what do you use to start dayz? Do you use a ArmA 2 OA shortcut with -mod=dayz or do you use six launcher?

Well, I'll have to know what you're using to launch DayZ.

If you're using Six Launcher, open it up, on the bottom left press "options" and just add it to "additional startup parameters"
