Safe Zones.

Yes, I am aware that right now that the Docks are a safe zone... But what if there were just small, closed off parts of town that you can go into and be 100% safe from zombies, bandits, etc.

Your weapon would be holstered and this could be like a central hub where you can link up with teammates, trade, stalk. It gives a player that feeling of being per say a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. which in a way is what we are. Scavenging for the best loot, while trying to survive a wasteland of undead.

The safest place in DayZ are the forums. As it stands, and I assume it always will stand, the only way safe zones can ever exist is if the players themselves group together, organize, lock off an area, and defend it in game, in servers. Just like real life.

Make your own safe zones. A game enforced safe zone is unrealistic! Get together with like minded people, I am one of them, who want to establish a designated safe trading hub. In order for this to happen you need to recruit enough people who would guard and patrol everyone that enters. If a bandit did try to cause a rucus, hed be killed real quick. The dozen or so armed guards watching the people trade would be enough of a deterrent. Rocket just needs to build a realistic framework that allows us to create our own goverments and areas. If anyone is interested we can create one. We will need at least a dozen guards. We can scout out a good location, gather supplies, fortifications. Establish a fee for entry. Can of beans or so. Than hopefully once radios or note posting system is implemented advertise our zone. The guards will be rewarded through loot entry fees and players have a free place to chill, trade and talk.

A good way for me to use my sniper and kill all of you just to steal all your loot. OR keep it all there and hide all your bodies just for the trolololololol.

----Except where we would implement our tradeing zone would be on a hill where you have the disadvantageous position and high C walls would not allow you a shot. And our lookouts would spot your fatass and we would get the trolololols or whatever that is. Than you can go tell your bandit buddies to stay away.

I guess you could try to set one up in one of the castles or something.

I'd just infiltrate and loot all your tents, steal your cars, and hopefully C4 will be in the game by then, so I can touch off all my c4 as I drive away laughing.

Game enforced safe zones are immersion breakers and a terrible idea. That bandit tailing on you? Horde of 64 zombies biting your heels? No worries! Just run past this magical line and zombies and bandits alike will stop right on their tracks! Now you can spend rest of the afternoon taunting them and throwing empty tin cans at them. When you get bored or run out of tin cans, you can entertain yourself by running over that magical protection line, take a shot at zombies/the bandit and run back like a little pussy. Rinse and repeat. If you are an adventurous bandit, instead of border hopping sissy; you can spend your evening camping at the treeline with your trustworthy CZ550, shooting anyone who crosses the magical protection line. Making the entrance to the safe haven literal killing ground.

This is how these are gonna turn out.

Safe zones are a terrible idea. Getting together with a group and setting up a fortifying area is the only way to go about it. We have a group of like 15 that has a base set up with sand bags and wire fencing. We defend it and take control over the city we are in. We are not "RPKS" (Random Player Killers) We defend our area of operations. Get in and get out. Its our motto.

i think simply make zombies locked outside of a iron gate will be fine.

now they just warp through it
