Ok so me and my friend have had camps go unnoticed for weeks and then the second we have got a vehicle, suddenly it's stolen within hours. Are there some hacks going around that show vehicle locations? Cause it seems extremely suspicious to me that our camps go unnoticed for weeks and then the second we get a vehicle and hide it near our camp, suddenly it's found.

Normally I'd say someone saw us going back there and followed us or tracked us, but we searched for and found the vehicles in the early morning/late night with only a few people on the server, and by few I mean me and my friend and 1-2 other people.

It just seems like too much of a coincidence to be legit. It's happened numerous times on 2-3 different servers. We had an ATV stolen that was literally inside 3 pine trees together, from a camp that had been there for 2-3 weeks, unfound. Then a motorcycle stolen from a month old camp that was inside a bush, so much so that I couldn't see it even when I knew it was there.

This only happens when we have gas powered vehicles. We have had two bikes for over a month, and they have never been stolen, even though they were at the same camps as the atv and motorcycle.

It just seems really bizarre to me that our vehicles are found so quickly whereas our camps are untouched for so long. Anyone else having this problem?

Yes there are hacks that can show vehicles, but it's also possible it was just coincidental, sooner or later every camp will be found and of you moved the car it will create a huge dust cloud which people can easily follow

think it depends on server settings, ive seen vehicles marked on the map on some servers even tho i hadnt spotted em :)

We thought that after the ATV was stolen. So before we logged off for the night with the motorcycle we sat on overwatch on our camp and the fields around it with our l85a2's with thermal on for a half hour or so before we logged. By then the smoke was gone and we would've seen anyone within view distance.

Which just makes me think it was illegitimate. I'm not really mad that they got stolen, it happens. I just was curious if there were hacks cause now I just won't take them back to our camps at all if it will lead people there through illegitimate means.

Some tents regenerate loot after restarts.

That could mean that your camp may have been found by others while you were offline and looted. When you come online, the server has restarted, so your stuff is all back in there. Next day, you leave a car and log, when the person who knows your camp's location comes pick up more items, he finds the vehicle and takes it away.

That's also a possibility but before that bug was in the game was when the ATV was stolen and the motorcycle was stolen friday I think. So I suppose it's a possibility for the motorcycle but for the ATV, it doesn't seem likely.

AFAIK (it may have been fixed) all choppers get a radar, so once you have a Chopper you can basically find all the other vehicles easily.

So a legit group with a Heli get a huge advantage. Hacked in Helis also.

The Hackers also have ESP for vehicles, players and zombies.

So yes, it could be hacks, but i like to err of the side of caution before claiming a camp grab was done by hackers, occasionally we all get outplayed fairly. :) Not all players/groups will raid a camp on the same day of discovery too, I like to watch for a few days, see if they lead me to another camp etc.

Eh we have our camp in an area where you can only see us if you are within 10~ meters or so of us. So we could see you and we usually run there on whatever server we are playing on at the time, and then hop over to our home server, so there is a pretty small chance of someone seeing us going in or out. Normally, I don't like to call foul. But it is literally every time we find a gas powered vehicle. And the radar was removed from helicopters according to the patch notes.

We have not seen any helo's on the server though, but like I said we usually play on a different server other then the one our camps on, so it's possible.

It could have been a chopper I suppose. Guess I should start hunting for the owners of said chopper and destroy it so I can keep my shit until it respawns. :P

Some servers have fixed it, some still victim to it. Mainly due to admins not updating etc.

Theres also some admins making efforts to detect the changed files, which is great, so beans to them.

Rocket etc must be making efforts too, but they aren't going to inform us of security changes for obvious reasons.

Thing is with ARMAs code, its cat and mouse.

Tell me about it. No gas, and if you hit something, just hop off the bike and back on. Fixes itself. Dunno if it's a bug or not but it makes them a hell of a lot better then gas powered vehicles.

Also them being silent to players is a pretty huge plus. Nothing like rolling up to a sniping position on your huffy.

Actually thats the first idea in a long time for DayZ that sounds actually fun.

That being said, yeah there are exploits and scripts that show vehicles, and tents too. :(

You could try running the fuel out before leaving them and having fuel cans hidden in tents nearby, or even damaging them if you have repair parts, just be careful xD (Yeah it's not a great solution! :( )

Them not saving is a possibility. The server we were on with the motorcycle was fairly unstable. It frequently randomly crashed, which is exactly why we put our tents on it. No one wants to play on a server that's rarely up. :P But the server was up for at least a half hour after and we saved it a half a dozen times before logging. Also the bicycle didn't get reset so it just seems weird.

I don't know if someone already said it because I was to lazy to read the thread but you man y have "thought" your camp went un-noticed because everytime you go back everything in the tent is still there because tents are glitched

If you're too lazy to read the thread, then get off the forums. This is why half the threads on here are full of 4 pages of people saying the same thing.

This thread is barely two pages long. If you can't read that much, then I fear for what happens when you see a book with 400 pages.
