If duping with tents cannot be easily fixed, at least make it more difficult to do

I am a legit player but I constantly find tents that have gear in them. I take this shit, and when I come back there is always more. Right now tents are duping items BY DEFAULT and to avoid duping you have to make sure you save the tent every single time you use it (and half the time it doesn't work). I want to obtain my stuff by playing the game not by duping, but when my tents and other peoples are automatically giving me items all the time it's pretty difficult to keep track. If you just had to put a little effort in to dupe, it would be far less of a problem for legitimate players.

I think that the simplest way to fix it is to make tents auto-save the equipment inside when someone takes something out / puts something in.

Kinda like you do manually, only automatically whenever an item is changed.

Gonna be to heavy on the database traffic - think easiest would just be auto save on server restart, but ye that will still fail if it crashes.

I don't think it will put excessive load on the hive, as I believe moving items in tents generates a lot less traffic than the total items moved in peoples' inventories.

Terrible idea and let me explain why; Not everyone sucks at gaming, thusly, not everyone with gear is a hacker. Just because -you- can't get good gear without looting duped items from tents does not mean everyone or, anyone, is as uncapable as you.

So everything you have is the stuff you carry around,if you die,you really loose everything and you just cant run back to your leet tent with duped gear.

Also remove storage space from vehicles,so the only thing you can do with them is using them to driving around,thats what they are designed for.

Maybe then we would see more vehicles driving around instead of horded vehicles somewhere far up north.

Of course that would be ideal, but inventory and storage systems like this always have multiple bugs and chances are there's going to be another way to dupe items if they remove this one. However I don't think a few groups of cheaters duping items is really an issue compared to every single person that uses a tent receiving multiples of their items when they didn't want them. People who put the effort in to do some kind of complex duping glitch can be banned and dealt with like any other kind of cheater but it's not as easy to deal with when tents are basically item duplication machines. Sure, in the long run it needs to be impossible to dupe items, but for now just making it so it's not the default behavior of tents would be a big step forward.

If I see a tent city, I empty it and save every tent.

If I see a single tent, I empty it and save the tent.

No matter if I need the gear or not, I will litter the ground with every last item, save and carry on my merry way.

I like to see myself as a player providing that litle bit of balence to the server I use. I also like to leave a empty tin can in your tent after I clear it. If you find your tent empty apart from one tin can, it's more than likely that I or someone from my clan has been there.

We like to keep our sever tidy.

Tents aren't the only problem. There are several methods of duping and not all require a tent.

So removing tents would help only a little bit. Rocket once stated, that he can not disable duping, but he can make it more difficult. Hopefully he will do so in the future.

Unfortunately, the engine is defective by design in this game. All you need to dupe an item is a backpack, dead zombie and the item itself. That's why Rocket said that it is impossible to fix the duping exploit. That's major engine flaw that nobody gonna fix.
