Side chat solves banditry

I just joined a server with side chat enabled, immediatly found a bunch of friendly people. They ever gave me a rid in their jeep.

Edit; But at the same time, people will keep calling for help over global chat. "Halp plz, broken bones in X." or "Found a crashed helicopter at X! Already looted what I needed, feel free to go check it." and then they camp the place in their hiding spot, and shoot anyone that comes by.

Though, the only victims in that are gullible people, or just unlucky. There are some good liars out there. And backstabbers.

I think what you're trying to say is that it somewhat cures the "kill on sight" attitude for many players, which is an issue.

Banditry itself, however, is part of the game.

I prefer side chat, I know it ruins immersion for many, but it didnt for me.

the risk of players turning on you is virtually just as high, as I assume you're using sidechat to contact strangers.

I started playing a bit before they removed it.

I understand they disabled it to make things more realistic, but right now, I rather not have to depend on the forums to find someone to play with.

In all fairness, if we wanted to avoid meta-gaming, the "Need Medical Assistance" thread on the Survivors HQ forum should be locked.

Do we truly want people further isolating themselves and depending on mere-chance for finding like-minded survivors? I think immersion can take one for the team in this case.

Side chat half stops sniping in major cities, since people spam the chat as soon as someone takes a shot. But then sometimes it makes it that much more fun killing someone to see their reaction.

Really its a double edge sword.

I'd like side chat in more servers, but the VC needs to be disabled.

fyi, lotc servers have sidechat, so does de21.

i'm surprised there still aren't more with it enabled. clearly a lot of people are requesting it.

I like side chat servers but they attract more hackers. It gives the hackers more tears to feed on :(
