Mexican Stand off?

So anyway - thought I'd quickly relay this tale of some of my exploring tonight - made me chuckle after the event, and I thought it might provide some light relief.

So I'm approaching NE airfield - I was doing a bit of a raid trying to get a backup loadout for my tent. So to save backpack space went in pretty light with only my hatchet to allow space for hopefully a few new weapons.

First time I've been there - approaching from the south I see a long incline up to the base (in open field) so decide to bank right and approach with a bit of tree cover.

Just as I get over the bank I spy a sniper, in full ghillie, crouched looking right my way. So I hit the floor and roll as fast as I can. And then breathe.

I wait then finally pop my head up. He's still looking my way. To be frank I'm surprised I'm not dead already. Didn't hear a shot.... Maybe he's waiting for the perfect shot. Who knows.. Whatever. I'm still alive.

I decide to flank him.

So I crawl. And crawl. And crawl. And c........ you get the picture.

I pretty much crawl all the way down the bank, across the length of the airfield and then carefully work my way back up the airfield in a direction I think this guy wont see me.

My plan is not to kill him (only armed with a hatchet after all) I've just walked a long way to get here and I want to check out these hangers.

So anyway, I finally circle the control tower - wondering where he might have moved to - when I see him.

Stood in the EXACT frickin place he was before. Motionless. Pointing his gun in the place I was 30 minutes earlier.

30 minutes. Yep 30 minutes I had spent, flanking and crawling to out smart a bandit sniper.

Who was nowt more than a statue. Probably a player long since quit who the game had bugged to stay in the place where he was.. Or some guy who I like to think, on site of my rugged 7 day old survivor hatchet armed guru, shat his pants and quit, left behind a motionless mirror of himself that I fought with, emotionally, for 30 odd mins.

But still bugs n all - It made me chuckle afterwards at the absurd altercation between me and a statue.

TLDR; go and play COD you 12 year old.
