BattleBear Custom 18 Posted August 5, 2012 I do know this would probably take extensive work to get the skeleton to be able to do this and probably wont work with the current engine but hey... just a thought. Turning your head and back looking at the zombies chasing you and being able to shoot with your pistol... Of course your accuracy would be horrible and you run the risk of running into something, but it would give you a chance to shoot the assholes that have been chasing you for 500m... ill post a picture if you guys still don't get it.BASICALLY YOU'RE RUNNING AND YOU LOOK BEHIND YOU AND SHOOT ONLY BEING ABLE TO LOOK BEHIND YOU WHILE DOING THIS SO THERE IS A RISK OF RUNNING INTO SOMETHING. Zeromentor 169 Posted August 5, 2012 Personally, I think it would just be a waste of ammo. Firing while running means you aren't able to correctly use the sights, add in the bouncing and bobbing of the human body as it moves, and the awkward shooting position (aiming back while running) means that most, if not all, of your rounds will miss.Such a feature would only be used a handful of times by players until they stop using it, then many more would complain about the inclusion of such a pointless and useless feature and demand time to be taken to add their own pointless or useless features. So no. I, personally, don't support this suggestion.

TheSwede 11 Posted August 5, 2012 It's not too hard to keep Walk on as default and use shift to run. You can fire while walk, albeit very inaccurately... but it still works. just run forward for a distance, slow to a walk, spin around and walk backwards, and taptaptap, take a few shots if you need to. Helluvalot safer to keep going til you can LOS them through bushes so they stop following for 2 seconds and stop running, then take your shots.

ApriL 28 Posted August 5, 2012 Running and shooting at the same time is quite difficult, especially if you are trying to be accurate.

BigTrain86 3 Posted August 5, 2012 Okey i get the argument that it is hard to put it in the game, but as the video above shows it is possible. But the thing with walking/running and shooting at the same time, should be near impossible? No it isn't , of course you loose accuracy, with this i mean you have to bee a monster to hit anything above 600 feet (200 meters) but below that, if you have training with assault rifles, it isn't that hard. Moxyz1 (DayZ) 10 Posted August 6, 2012 (edited) It doesn't . oooher,,,,, who stole youre beans !! after reading in youre post that it propably wouldnt work with the current arma 2 engine i thought this video was relevant .. sorry to waste youre time then ok. personally i dont think Dayz needs that feature anyway . we have more than enough control options with crouch, lean ,roll and prone. what we need is the Zs to not zig zag and warp all over and a smoother quick turn animation for the player character imo.
