Title says it all, I want to know what loser goes all the way north to find a silenced sniper rifle then comes back south and camps spawns......

There are no silenced sniper rifles, or battle rifles. And no that is unrealistic and no fun. Also wrong thread placement.

No, it will result in admin abuse on some servers. Just kick the guy who killed you and ban him because he's better than you.

mfw I shot a guy who had NOTHING today.

I did that the other day :/ I saw a guy nearing our camp. Not wanting him to find it, I lined him up in my scope and took the shot. Turned out that he was completely unarmed and just making his way north...but hey, he came to me, not the other way around.

I agree that this may well be one of the unfortunate side affects of such a mechanic.

TBH, I'd be happy to see the 'XX has been killed' message removed completely. If you're sneaking around Cherno and you hear a shot then 'XX has been killed' pops up you are essentially getting a 'warning, sniper at work' message which gives you an artificial knowledge of your surroundings

Well, if the guy was shot in Cherno, or wherever you happen to be at the moment, you should clearly hear the gunshot and/or the screams of the victim (unless headshot) in real life, so it isn't that unnatural. But being able to see the death of someone 50 kilometres away from you is not that realistic, so yeeees, remove death messages.

This actually needs to be implemented because of the amount of hackers. I'm pretty sure I'd want to ban the guy who teleported to me and shot me down with an mk.48 instead of letting him continue his lollygagging

Total agreement there, like bleeding out would cause immense amount of pain, and screams should be heard. Another thing is maybe sniper shots in cities should be echo'd amongst the buildings... nothing worse than firing a shot, killing someone and his mate knows exactly where you are, realisticly the crack of the shot echoes throught the walls of buildings making the location of the original shot near impossible (not a nice experience IRL trust me) but would make things more challenging but yes sniper shots are very loud.... and should have more of an audiable range.

Death messages however need to go, ive played with too many people who get over jumpy when a few people die in a row, i mean we aint even near these cities and its no good! i'd rather have things as relistic as possible, Keep the LA85 the way it is though, its perfect :)

Server admins can choose to turn death messages off

The "kill feed" is disabled on some servers, wouldn't mind seeing it go across the board, taking tags, free ranging, and 3rd person with it. Imagine dropping a guy without confirmation messages, going to loot him and seeing "Check Pulse" instead of gear. Happened to me once, makes for a funny, intense fucking moment

I feel like complete anonymity only hurts the evolution of the game.

There would be no clan wars if you don't know who they are, no revenge kills, everyone is just a nameless face.

In this situation I think realism needs to take a back seat to good game growth.

Getting killed in Day Z rarely has anything to do with people being 'better.' It's almost entirely down to being lucky. You can never know when some random sniper is off sitting on a hill in the wilderness.

Beautiful!

What part? The hiding in the bushes aiming at noob town or the abort right after the kill in case someone heard him?

Oh! That makes it alright then!

I mean, you only had 5k blood but enough time to hide in a bush and wait to snipe someone, but no, not your fault at all

As most people have said, I'd be against this too. It takes away a key aspect of the game. Especially well playing on a Vet server. Anonymity of a player.

What key aspect of the game do you mean?
