What if it wasn't getting any longer?

Recommended Posts

Ths is an hypothesis, but a lot of players assume that as DayZ mature and get more fleshed out peoples would survive longer and "buildup" in some way.

But what if we could imagine dayZ remaining as letal, and harsh, how could it be made more interesting, yet remain short and violent.

Just let more people in that never heard of ARMA before.

They will run round shooting everything in sight turning it into a GTA 4 style deathmatch.

I believe the dev wants to keep it challenging and perhaps even make it a bit more difficult. That is what makes it entertaining for me, there wouldn't be much of a point to the game if it was easy as hell. You learn to survive longer the more you play anyway... Unless just shoot anything that moves like some COD player on speed drawn in by the fact that this game has zombies.

its alpha and people play it for end game as if they will be able to keep it makes me laugh when they rage at loosing things as when the game goes to beta there will be a wipe i assume and most certainly before retail or public release w.e they choose

What i'm thinking is that it could remain a very brief and harsh experience, a few hours at the very best, but if it's deep enough in gameplay and possibilities, deep enough so you can never see it "all" in a single run, each of those small "lives" could be unique and vibrant.

It should remain brief. Yeah I hate it when I get killed but I come straight back in and feel excited about building up my gear all over again.

This is a deathmatch survival game, it's a huge key in the gameplay. I would love for more players to pour in because you know we have our (loving <3) bandits there to teach all the new guys a lesson and keep people in line. Pretty sure as long as they're around people will be a little more cautious and worried, or at least learn to be.
