Shot myself in the head?

I was just at cherno apartments after filling up on medical gear and was taking care of a few zeds.. With the last shot for the last zed, I immediately died from a head shot.. initially I thought I had just been sniped but after reviewing the footage I dont think it was possible (head behind the front face as I was mid staircase) - I think I shot myself in the head via ricochet

is this possible?

Yes it is possible in enclosed spaces. Bullet penetration as well as ricochets are possible.

Watching the video again, I think it was a false alarm... turned up the volume and there is what sounds like an enfield firing pretty much when I die, though I dont see where a headshot could have come from.. 5 mins on the video, you guys can probably tell
