Advanced clan bases?

Ok well I was thinking today how it's kinda hard to find a group sometimes. This isn't like WoW where you click a button and instantly are thrown into a party with random people!

So then I was thinking... whats the DayZ version of this?

I think its an admin selected zombie-free town, where clans can set up a REAL base of operations, and set up "safe" zones and trade areas for other players. The meta-gaming and self-created content is crazy! Think of it... defending the town from bandit raids, ambushing survivors as they leave with new gear, and even players renting out their "safe zone" tents to other players for cooked meats and pepsi! And last but not least... you could meet other players in the town, talk to them first (wow!) and then go on adventures with them!

They are not going to add it in there, no.

Rocket stated they plan for base building in the standalone version.

But to get to the standalone version they must finish the mod.

That would be a town painted with blood. I can see players just killing eachother in there.

And if there wouldn't be friendly fire to prevent killing in that town, wait until you leave...

I don't know about a zombie free town, but rudimentary base building would be sweet, nothing too over powered or crazy, but maybe adding sheets of metal and scraps together to build a kind of base, a big somewhat fortified tent basically, if you could lock the doors and give your friends all a key that would be awesome too. Now I think of it tho, it'd be cool to have a city on the map that is a "safe zone" a city that was fortified by the military before the infection hit, but that would pose a lot of problems, and probably be nothing but pvp.

tis a way of creating incentives to take over towns or at least secure areas of them whilst providing a way to create player designed safe zones. Rather then relying on the developers to create safe zones themselves
