Can someone explain the range-finding with the CZ 550?

Recommended Posts

Apparently the horizontal markers on the sides of CZ 550 scope can give you the range on a target?

I'm assuming this works because the markers will be closer/further apart depending on the range of a target. But can someone explain how to determine the exact distances or what they are supposed to measure?

I'm sure I can easily zero it by aiming at an object I know is 100 meters away, but I need to know what those markings mean!

So does anyone know a guide or can explain it? Thanks.

Scroll up - Might show range sometimes (depending on server difficulty)

Map - Shift Click on map to set a waypoint, this will show in-game a green arrow and it will display the meters to your target.

Rangefinder.

I think the marks is 200M each.. 2-4-6-8 or something :P

I created a thread just like this some time ago and the best response I got was by

wafflsomd

The best way with the cz to judge distance is to use the chevron as a mildot... its about 1.5 mildots big so you just need to find out the height of the object, times it by 1000, then divide that number by the height of it in mildots. A standing zombie is about 1.8m tall a monkey .8 and a crawler .4

so a Standing zombie thats 3 mildots tall is about 600m away (1.8x1000/3)

or a monkey thats 1.5 mildots tall is 550m or so away (.8x1000/1.5)

thats the best i can do for ya :D

Hope it helped!

*edit* OFC the more you use the gun the easier it gets to judge distances

I basically went onto the training level where you are on that sniping range and just changed the distances and took a mental note of how big the target was in comparison to the chevron whilst fully zoomed, it took quite a while but realistically this rifle is good up to 500m after that you start to make guess work in teh short time you have to take the shot with such a poor scope.

The CZ550 has a Chevron rather than the standard mil dot scale, however the chevron is actually around 1.5mil dots so a bit of guess work and some smart work and you can use it as a normal mil dot but it is not as quick or effective as a proper scope.
