So i make it into Cherno and get some guns, Revolver and a Winchester, i'm crawling around hatcheting zombies, while their shitty 500metre super vision finds me and rapes me all the time.

I make it to the store, eat up some food to get back to 10k Blood, Then i'm like, lets go check for Camo at the church... as i approach the door BANG as the bullet hits next to me, i run inside and say "Whoa!, Friendly!", i get no response. After a while i head out again, i'm about 500meters another direction now.. BANG! My legs are broken, no one in sight, must be a sniper?? I say again "I'm friendly! I'm not dead but i need morphine" i get no response. So think hell whatever there's about 604323436443 Zombies on me so i chuck the ear deafening grenade "beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep" goes the system audio as my ears bleed.

I'm crawling back a bit further when BANG! Headshot, i'm dead.

So Why? Why kill me? Surely survivors are better together against the endless undead horde rather than becoming nothing more than infantile trigger happy children who don't have any empathy for anyone. Please, i urge you. Think before you shoot.

My mentality of the game changed back when I tried to be friendly to EVERYONE I met.

I NEVER shot on sight. I never wanted to kill or tried. I always wanted to make friends and have a large group going.

But that all changed when people KILLLED ME on sight, over and over again, until a switch flipped inside my head.

Time to kill on sight too. No mercy. I don't care if you have a MIC and can talk to me. Although I can clearly hear you, I may talk back.

Pretend to be your friend, and then shoot you in the back.

I'm sorry. It's not MY fault that this game as turned into a Deathmatch PvP game, rather than a Zombie survival game. There is literally ZERO RPG/survival elements to DayZ.

You can REMOVE the zombies and still call this game DayZ. That is how far from zombie survival this game is.

Well i spawned on the docks of Cherno so i didn't have much of a choice.

There is always a choice, it's the choice to play it safe or risk the health of your character. You choose to risk it and lost this time, I'm not saying it sucks to get killed by a sniper in cherno, just you need to expect it since there are a lot of perches in that city some camper can hang out on top of.

I normally stick to the coast line, looting buildings on that side of the city, it helps me avoid being spotted by the camp spots almost all the way through the city. I stick close to the sides of buildings as well to further reduce my visibility.

People who run in the streets, and expose themselves to the sniper spots are just asking for it. Same thing goes for elektro, you have to block their view of you if want a higher % of survival when in those towns, the closer you get to the north side of either of those towns, the less chance you will live due to snipers.

Yeah no i agree with all that, and i am generally quite careful. But it was just frustration in mindless killing that got to me.

Sometimes they kill you for fun, other times they kill you because they think you're a threat to themselves or someone they are protecting. I was killed by some guy when I was lying in the bushes with a ghillie suit. I looked him in the face, he typed "friendly?" in chat, and I'm about to write and a second later after he asks if I'm friendly he just shoots me. Wtf.

Anyways, group up with someone, like me if you're into the roleplaying. Lol :P

If you spawn near Cherno, make a quick run through to find some gear. Then leave immediately. This goes for any big city.

I've made this mistake multiple times. Get to the point where I am like, sweet, almost got everything I need, but damn, one certain item would be sweet then I will leave.

Get shot, die, and say I should have left earlier.

You should always survey a town from a distance too, see if there's any zombies spawned. If not then you can make a quick run in to the hot item locations and be fairly sure that no one is around.

I had a similar problem like this, but I found a lee enfield and started to shoot back. Almost hit him too but since he has the advantage of both hight and a better weapon. Well lets just say I didn't make it.

I hate to sound like an old fogey, but DAYZ felt fun when it was the occasional bandit and the rest were helping each-other survive.
