thelonewarrior 886 Posted August 5, 2012 (edited) Hi, you seem like the kind of person we are looking for.Our group is called the Regulators, we have been enforcing law in the servers we play for some time. You may want to check out our videos on youtube:http://www.youtube.c...r0?feature=mheeOr our forums:http://regulators.freeforums.orgWhat we do is have a few rules:Never harm innocentsNever kill for personal gain or pleasureProtect any friendlys and other regulators if possible, and always issue a warning if another player tries to kill you or your group or issue a warning that we are friendly upon encountering other playersWE usually operate in cells, in units of 3-8 well armed guys.If you are interested, simply go to our forums, read some of our stories and what we stand for and if you sign up, leave us a forum message on our write stating what area your from (Europe for example) and a little bit about yourselfWe offer other services such as medical aid, security for trade transactions etc etc but those kind of missions are for indervidual players or small groups that wish to do this yourself. We dont ask you to change your play style, we simply ask you to defend those in need and take down the kind of players that just kill for pleasure (especially if they kill new spawned unarmed players) Edited August 5, 2012 by thelonewarrior
Zera_Grey 28 Posted August 5, 2012 I like the idea if you can get enough wire fencing some sandbags close off a small area at first then expand as the community grows. I would be glad to help when I can. can't wait to see how far this can go.

Hudson633 28 Posted August 5, 2012 I used to roleplay being a cop in a town on gmod, clocked up atleast 100 hours in that role. I don't see how you're going to police an open country without patrol cars, and while so many weapons are laying around in a violent area.Say you'd been running towards some incident, you'd easily have members being picked off by automatic rifles while not being able to return fire at 200 meters because your ironsights would be jumping about from the running. As much as I like the idea of some kind of justice, all I see is disaster for those attempting it. It would have to be more like a military operation, and you'd rarely be the ones with the advantage of being the defender firing first in gunfights.
Budheadz 28 Posted August 5, 2012 They could bring a whole new dynamic to Dayz doing something like this.Bring in a new character and skin, "Law enforcement" or something, to pick when you start. Give the L.E. outposts/bases, army jeeps and best weapons from the start. If a L.E. goes awol and starts shooting up the place, insta death, or very least turn to bandit and strip him of all gear. There would have to be big punishment or else people would just spawn in as L.E. to gear up and then break off.Pretty soon bandits would start ambushing L.E. patrols and bases to hi-jack vehicles and steal there weapons. warz would start between the bandits and the L.E., a resistance would form and create a whole new dynamic. The L.E. on one side, the resistance on the other, the neutral survivors in the middle, and zombies all over the fucking shop,
NotYou 13 Posted August 5, 2012 I was in the Regulators in Shadowbane. Great group. We took down the Rollin 30's (a nasty griefing guild) under the LAPD tag.
Shard (DayZ) 24 Posted August 5, 2012 My friend was killed by a "cop" who drove up in a police car in dayz and ordered him to give up his weapon. Hackers...
step0229 8 Posted August 5, 2012 Somehow I don't see this working out well for the "cops". I guarantee they will shoot on sight any bandit they see... Whether it's self defense or not. Looks like I have a new group to hunt.
ApriL 28 Posted August 5, 2012 Sounds like a good idea in writing, but would it be effective or worth the amount of time it would take to develop though?
thelonewarrior 886 Posted August 5, 2012 (edited) Well just take a look at our videos on youtube, my clan/ group have been helping people and killing those that spawn and player kill for the fun of it.We give them to chance to surrender, in my video that we are uploading tonight a guy shot one of our 6 man squad thinking he was alone. We then besieged the 2 of them as they were on top of a fire station. 5 of us gave them multiple chances to surrender, in which case we would take their gear and send them on their way. (we do have a few lone wolf snipers with us, but most of our people have become groups of 4+ so 1-2 bandits isnt a problem)They refused, so we hit them from all sides, they didnt stand a chance.Point is, tactics and numbers. Against another group of equal numbers and firepower ect it would be an interesting fight. But the majority dont go around in groups of 6 well armed people. We can take 80% of bandits with little casulties and most of the time we suffer none. If someone goes down with broken bones for example we open up with 2-3 guys with aks to keep the enemy's heads down until our guy gets to cover.Point is, we havent lost a battle against bandits yet, in the last 2 weeks we have grown from about 5 up to 50 members all out enforcing a non kill on sight system where we camp, hunt, or stalk people and watch them.Numourous times we see people calling friendly and getting fired upon, and we step in and kill the person who started it, so far everyone we save has been grateful and in fact many of them have joined usWhatever we are doing.......its slowly working Edited August 5, 2012 by thelonewarrior
AGlumSon 43 Posted August 5, 2012 This would mean tracking and detaining players who do not follow the established laws.I am all for tracking down and shooting griefers (BTW I like the idea of the regulators, I might join you), but I always wonder when people start talking about "the law" here on the forums. As far as I am concerned there is no law in DayZ. Perhaps it will be impossible to implement a "police force" in terms of game mechanics, but I'll bet you it'd be even harder to come to a consensus on something that one should or shouldn't do. Thorne (DayZ) 10 Posted August 5, 2012 I am interested in starting a sort of police like group that trys to establish a justice system in DayZ.This would mean tracking and detaining players who do not follow the established laws.I would also like to add some sort of money system like ammo kind of like in metro 2033.Pointless due to rampant hacking. NotYou 13 Posted August 5, 2012 Pointless due to rampant hacking. It would be kind of hard to "detain" a guy dropping nukes on the server or teleporting you to Thunderdome. But I guess you can always try, the hacker will surely enjoy it.
