Passworded servers

So I just noticed that the Dallas 2 server provided by Legion is passworded, and has 12 players in game... all legion players.

Now on one hand it's their server and they can do as they please with it, but on the other hand they can farm gear/vehicles and then use said gear on other open servers or just remove the password when they are ready to.

So how does this sticky situation play out? Can it be made so that players on passworded servers won't be saved?

Just to be clear I'm not calling out or naming and shaming the legion guys, any server provider can do this and I think this has come up before. In fact I thank them for providing a much needed server, though it's still a serious balance issue.

Someone said they are trying to get "ACE" working... but imo no custom changes should be allowed, or running servers passwordprotected.

We know legion are filthy carebears, but passwordprotecting servers to be able to get gear safely is plain wrong.

A server host has been given a requirement set by Dayz devs for a reason.

Balance and stability is the goal, all the above if correct is not desired for true Alpha testing.

Let me clarify that, before this gets out of hand...

i made acouple tweaks to the CFG file, changed some slots back to a smaller amount, and set a couple other things back to normal, was trying to test out how that would affect desync/lag/ect...

it fixed quite a few problems, and i assured everybody it was for 60 minutes of test time, thereafter i brought the server back up.

No, we werent installing any mods like ACE, or contemplating putting anything else on, it was a stress test, and i used my own guys to try it out, so if it kept crashing, [which it did, twice], i wouldnt do that to a full server of 50...

Im getting word that it was passworded for a short time, certainly not long enough to do any mass scavenging fore rare items. Rather to test damaged scripts.

100% true griff. none of us didnt bother going far, we just did some simple tests with zombie clipping and desync.
