Make everyone infected from spawn with just 24 hrs till they turn...

Upon spawning in every survivor receives a message saying that they have been exposed to the sickness and will in 24 hours become a zombie.

The debug screen should include a 24 hour countdown timer.

When you consider that the average life expectancy is about 40 minutes some might argue that it won't affect anything.

But this suggestion may fundamentally change the way people play the game as everyone now has something in common and the 'loot' will be less valuable as it will only last till you become a zombie.

You could add sidequests that may extend their time or make the 24 hr period an average with some turning sooner and others later.

It would be very interesting to see the way this affects peoples' behaviour.

Why try to survive if you know you're going to die.. there's no challenge to stay alive. It'd be run and gun everywhere.

Maybe this could happen if you are unconscious while a zombie eats your brain and u still somehow survive, and you could take an antidot to stop the infection , but being infected since spawning is just pointless

I'm not that sure on that 49 minute stat on the DayZ page. I have lived way longer than that except maybe on my first life and I'm pretty sure a lot of people do too. If that stat is correct I'm sure it is "contaminated" by first timers quick deaths, buggy deaths, debug forest deaths and the old respawn until out of kamenka deaths.

I would rather have you being far more capable of being infected rather than starting with the infection because your not really a survivor if your going to become a zombie... Also, antibiotics are rare as it is and I have only found 1 box and with this people will never find them because everyone will constantly hoard them.

First time post on here but the game has me hooked and I hope it will go far and I'm willing to stick with it and hope to give positive feedback to the benefit of the game through various stages all the way to release.

My take on this though would be if we were susceptible to the disease or able to catch it while alive, we wouldn't be alive right now to be a survivor as with a persistant world this wouldn't make much sense. It seems like it could be used in some way though as in a different type of server where maybe getting hit by a zombie at all gives a chance for infection that if not cured will turn you within 24 hours. Maybe not make all servers like this but it would be interesting for a "hardcore" or increased risk type of game.
