Food and drink ? (weapons aplenty)

Not sure if I was just having a bad run but /semi-rant engage. :

It seems extremely difficult to find food and drink now, Weapons no problem, ammo, hunting knifes, toolboxs, everywhere. But heaps of empty houses / barns and simply no food. I actually died last night due to having no food or drink. At one stage I was just charging from town to town running through all the buildings and nothing ?

I've never been unable to find them before, so was it just a case of "bad luck" or has the drop / spawn rates changed or something ?

(and zeds aggro from miles away still, have to get screenies / fraps before I go the rant on that one though).

That is very bad luck I must say, last night alone I found (well what I bothered to keep in my bag anyway) was 8 soda cans and 2 filled up water bottles... And about 4 cans of food..

Food is apparently uncommon according to the Day z wiki but you have just had a very bad run... Did you check any supermarkets?

Fuck big cities.

Find a canteen then kill cows or animals for meat.

I keep a 8+ man group alive by myself with all just stuff I can get from the wilderness.

Bad luck I reckon. Sometimes I'm swimming in matches and compasses. Other times it takes me a few days to find one.

I guess it's bad luck, I find most of my food in the supermarket in Stary, usually there's at least one can of food and a coke. And if you've already got a hunting knife, look in the markets for a box of matches and start hunting. Cooked meat is way better than canned food. And don't forget about your water bottle, I carry around 5 of those things and never run out of water. Every town has its own well and last time I was in a market I found two empty bottles there.

Or just shoot people, they have food and water too.

Looks like just bad luck, I was going into the cities and running through all the "shops" etc, that is why I thought something might have changed because there was nothing, unless it had been looted minutes before I got there or something.

I'll give it another go today, see if my lucks changed :)
