FN FAL AN/PVS-4

I was pretty happy today I was exploring the map after I looted some survival tools and I was thinking hey I have been playing for a week and a bit and havent found a crashed heli, then suddenly I walk out the bushes and there it was a crashed heli with 7 or so zeds hovering around it.

Anyways I crawl in and found a FN FAL AN/PVS-4 , which is awesome. But I have a question about it, why cant you turn of the NV scope?

Its actually not that great of a gun in my opinion unless you play on night servers.

You can't turn off the NV.

Because it isn't toggle-able.

Gun is basically shit unless you already have NVGs and are playing on a night server. If you don't have NVGs, every time you look through the scope and pull away from the scope, your eyes have to re-adjust which puts you at a large disadvantage in a firefight.

Yeah, I love the plain FN FAL but have never had a use for the AN/PVS-4.

I just wish the ammo was a bit more common... unless you spend all your time crash site hunting you run out pretty fast.

For actual night time use I would much rather combine and M14 AIM with NVG's.

I know lol. um yeah I get that its crap unless playing night servers, but isnt it toggle-able in Arma 2? If so why not do the same in DayZ

The gun has limited situational usability with the NV. Good if you like night servers and enjoys some pretty high damage (essentially a one hit kill). Enjoy it none the less!

you just can't currently, its not an option. you are not the first person to complain about this, perhaps the easiest change here is for rocket the dev team to change the drop for the PVS-4 to something else from ARMA II. There are plenty of options to choose from...

its not a bad gun it does heavy damage and ive used it alot during the day your eyes will adjust and you can use the nv during the day just takes a sec so unless youre camping its kinda useless but you can always hip shoot it 2-3 shots will put someone down

ammo for the FAL is just as rare

heli crashes and military barracks

FAL will really be crap after they fix spawning with full mags

not really complaining, just wondering... seem kind of silly tbh...I also get that they might be willing to change things to make the game more interesting. but what ever way I still have my AK-76 Kobra with SD mags,a bout a 1km/1000m away from the Airfield, so hoping to find a M14 :D oh and hoping not to get killed which probably will happen .

Whats the best way to swap out weapons from your back pack with out having your back pack eat it?

thats a great gun in night servers. Nice Zoom but not too much, good fire rate and 2 shots one player dead.

It's much better paired with NVG's and Night Servers. I want to use mine, but I am in search of NVG's :D

open ur bag away from any loot or anything on the ground and just switch them.
