I think every popular managed host has had their share of issues on the forums. You get what you pay for. Go Limestone Networks if you decide to go dedicated.

what are their prices like? Do they host DayZ servers? or do I just need to buy a server from them and setup a DayZ server?

You would rent a dedicated server that you were responsible for and setup DayZ yourself. It can be a learning experience if you've never managed your own server before. You could also host other games/services on it too. Short of the datacenter having issues, you'll almost have no issues that you cannot fix yourself. You don't have to rely on 72 hour wait times for support from a middleman.

I agree 100%, these are the only guyz to go through : they really kick ass. Unmanaged dedicated is the way to go , Limestone Networks will get it done.

The cheapest that would get approved for DayZ would be about $108 a month. You would be able to host your own TS3 and maybe a different game or two on that plan. They usually have deals on their facebook page too and coupon codes so maybe you can save more.

No such issues here and we also utilize Limestone Networks. ;)

There's pretty much a thread for most of the hosts here in the Server General section that's managed by the hosts themselves. There's definitely feedback in all of them so you should be able to get an idea of the type of service you should expect. Speaking from personal experience I highly recommend you read the Defcon thread before choosing them but your mileage may vary.

I've been using Survival Servers now (a dedicated DayZ hosting company - http://www.survivalservers.com/aff.php?aff=020) for a few weeks and have to say they are excellent. Very fast set-up, they provide Chenarus and Lingor, they host @hive, @bliss (their own Survival Servers hive network based on bliss) and completely private hives so you can set up your own community and build servers on that hive.

Their prices are competitive and they have many 3rd party features such as removing all out of bounds vehicles, changing time limit on wire, hedgehogs and sandbags. All vehicle and tent saves work. All vehicles spawn (up to a max of 75). They provide hosting in US and Europe.

There are many other features that make this host great. And yes, that's my affiliate link in the address. If you don't want to help me out by using that (basically a spotters fee) I won't hate you but please at least check them out for yourselves.

Cheers,

Dave.

You mentioned quick setup being a concern - as far as I know we're the only provider with instant setup.

Are there any other features you are looking for? Sorry for the double post.
