So I found a gps and was interested to know on different servers why it shows up different players tags on the map? Is this a common problem

depends on server settings, and if the server is on Veteran, Regular, Recruit, etc

Edit: I think you mean some servers show players tags, and other servers don't, right?

Think you mean the little blue arrow thingy's -> 'Difficulty settings' some servers show you/ others on the map (recruit) most servers don't have it enabled (most regular/veteran/expert).

Or the black(mainly, and other colors) crosses -> Team map labels (misson based (so server local), visible for everyone (since were all in the same team), resets every server reset) - place by double clicking on the map, can be removed by hovering over it with your mouse and pressing delete

No, hes talking about the ultimate survivor "pathfinding" tool, the GPS. Pretty rare tough, but it's worth it.

yeah players can annotate the map and other players can see the notes. Best way to destroy a clan camp? grenade? satchel charge? run it over with a truck?... no, one simple note on the map and its alllll over.

That's just the map, has nothing to do with the GPS.

Some people will put notations that they cycle loot by X Free Guns near the barracks (meaning there will be a huge pile outside, generally DMR, FN FAL, AKs etc), some people will put traps like X Car in the middle of Cherno and wait to snipe. So always be very cautious when investigating them, some clans don't realize everyone can see them, so.. free loot if they haven't been raided.
