I got killed by a player's corpse.

Recommended Posts

Just happend to me recently.

I was inside what looked like a store and when I was looting, I heard footsteps next to me, and I saw a player body sliding on the floor. It startled me at first, but then I tried talking to him and all of the sudden, I started hearing that "bullet whizzing by" sound effect, and started hacking at him with my hatchet(sadly, it didn't do anything to him). In a few minutes, he shot me and killed me with what sounded like a machine gun. I don't know if that's some kind of weird glitch, or if the player was cheating in some way.

I didn't get a chance to record it because I didn't expect anything like that to happen.

A few things could have happened.

- You didn't hit him (you have to be like 1m infront of him, at the most).

- A different player shot you from an angle you couldn't see.

- Massive lag.

- Was hacking.

I was actually in front of him and aiming at him. It just didn't seem to be working since he was literally a corpse and was actually a living player.

He was the only one I encountered in that store.

It didn't seem laggy on my side, same with the guy that killed me.

That would seem more likely(again, it could've been some kind of glitch, but I'm not postive), because I've never seen a player in DayZ that has a corpse as their player model.

Perhaps he was using the Zombie Face? You can put it on yourself in the Profile Edit window.

I didn't see a zombie face on him neither.

But the best way I can describe it, the corpse was face down on the ground, like in this picture(not mine) and was sliding on the ground, even though I can hear his footsteps.

it is lag

it happen to me many times, I get hit and and passed but I can still take the shot and killed the other guy (the gun is there like normal even with the passed out timeglass). if the one that go down have a lee dinner bell gun, you both is going to die

but you right, it is a exploit and a problem .

exploit part, you just you ms sky high when you cornerd and you can force this

and it a problem with arma 2 engine and it is the main reason why many servers have low tolerance for Ms/lag/ping

only way to prevent this is to always be in cover and wait atleast 20 sec before go loot the body
