Players Hacking RCon

Recommended Posts

We had a player last night on US 1218 hack into our RCon by not using the RCon password etc. He most likely hacked it through BattleEye. He was able to begin banning people and also unbanned a few of our bans.

This is really more of a warning to others that players are now going through and hacking the server's RCons!

And just another reason why we are thinking about shutting down our server and roaming free.

That one has been around for years.

The regular server I play Arma2 on used to get hacked like that and it made it harder for the owner to get control back and ban them.

Very true sir I just thought that was taking care of a while back.

I remember clan members had to completely rebuild the server from scratch.

Well luckily we have our server running off our own dedicated box and our main server admin can easily get rid of them. But I just figured I'd put the warning out there that players are now doing it again!

um, if you have your profile and BE folder in your arma 2 directory then yes it is very easy. This has been around for many many years and is intended. This is very basic arma 2 server security.

I suggest you read the wiki on how it works to prevent it in the future.
