[The Friendly Player 0]

So I thought I would make a thread dedicated to what happened to me on the New York 8 server. I also recommend you share you own stories that go along with this subject.

Anyway, onto my story.

I spawned on the beach even though I had recently been on the inland, heading North. Silly glitches, you are what caused me to run into this suicidal person. The survivors name was Grim. I was had recently jumped from the beach into the tree line near it. I realized that I was near the Balota airport. As I move through the trees and almost reached the first house, a survivor named Grim sends a message over side chat. It talked about a "guy" in the trees. I freaked out and searched frantikly for this "Grim". At first, I thought he was a bandit messing with me but he then jumps right in front of me.

After his startling entrances, he asks me to kill him. Now, I must let you know something. I never, EVER kill a fellow survivor. I hate the thought of it. In fact, if a survivor shoots at me, I let him kill me. Why? Because karma's a bitch. Anyway, I tell Grim that it is against my code to shoot him. He then continues to ask for me to kill him and I continue to say no, I even offer supplies!

Finally, Grim runs off saying "I failed the test". I chase after him hoping to save a life. I do shoot one bullet at him but it misses. I don't know why but I think I was just caught up in the moment. I can't believe myself! I almost killed another survivor! From then on I vow to not even think about shooting another fellow friendly. I stop in the hangers near by for ammo after this "traumatic" event. Guess who jumps out of nowhere and takes the ak magazine and runs? Yep, Grim. I tell him to stop as he clearly doesn't have an ak. He runs up through the control tower and hops off the ledge. H-he killed himself, right then and there. I stare downwards, horrified that he would take his player's life. I climb down the ladder and only take the ak magazine. As a kind of service, I leave a flare as his tomb stone.

Rest in piece, Grim

So there you have it. I have to admit it was very frightening to see a player just do that. Well until next ~Liam A.K.A The Friendly Player

You sound like a great guy. No sarcasm. Its a shame the anti-social dog kicking bandits will flood this topic saying "carebare" (for some reason, it still escapes me how human emotions are considered a bad trait in they're broken minds.)

Remember, in DayZ, people with the ability to make friends and survive without resorting to unnecessary killing are the ones considered "strange."

As for your story, I think it may be one of a kind. I've not seen anything even close to it.

Thanks! I often get alot out of not shooting players. It can lead to them watching my back or just giving me that extra mag to finish off those zombies. As for the bandits who will call me a carebear, shame that I shoot them on sight unless they yell friendly at the top of their lungs.

Oh yes, in DayZ being a survivor is actually a beneficial, enjoyable living. I happen to simply be talking about the forum. All these hardcore, hard headed, "bad ass" bandits seem to brag on the forum about how great they area and how carebear WE are.. but, in game, i've met FAR more nice, normal headed, sociably friends than these "awesome" bandits.

They call me a carebear here, because they're unable to muster the social skills necessarily to log in and play DayZ.

I've even formed my own reputation. People see me in servers and say "hey, I remember you, you're friendly!" Must be the unique name.

excellent story... reminds me of when I commited suicide.

I was down to 3k blood after a lag-fest server explosion caused zombies to teleport around me and put me down.

My buddy on TS held my hand and brought me to safety, waiting for me as I went unconscious. We made it to a lake waaay up North.. he left me there for a hunting trip. He returned hours later with no food.

Cold, shivering, and unable to see. I stood up and gave him a salute. "Shoot me comrade, I cannot continue on like this"

"But but Leb... I can save you."

"no Sully, every moment of my life is agony, the pain has taken over, I cannot let this continue. End my life."

"LEB I LOVE YOU"

"I LOVE YOU TOO SULLY"

*sully looks away as he pulls the trigger and places a bullet into my head*

I had a will in my pocket, it said he could have my beans

Sir, you should right a story about that! It would defiantly be an interesting read.

Freaking yesterday I witnessed a suicial maniac, he had a good reason though.

He was in some building in elektro (I have no freaking clue what the buildings are) and all I could do was watch with my binoculars as a bandit and some survivors flood it. All the typing in chat was what made me curious.

They where basically saying where he was and that they were gonna kill him (FR6 for anyone wondering).

Anyways he types out his name was Marik "Come in here and ill blow us up" of course misspelled I guess the poor fellow was out of ammo All I hear is a few gunshots and then BOOM freaking explosion inside then another explosion. The was killed popped up for three different players including Marik immediately after the explosion and the last after the second explosion I just broke out laughing hysterically.

That guy was freaking insane.
