I never realized how many hackers there were.

so me and my friends finally meet up, and for the first time in dayz, i play with friendlies. we hit the NWAF, then stary sobor, and a few helicopter crash sites. we were heading for a forest to disconnect from a good day's work, when suddenly, headlights. now, this is the first car i've ever seen in dayz. working or not. we all drop and lie completely still as my heart starts racing. for a few seconds, nothing. seems like he turned left instead of right at the intersection we were to the right of. then, it appears again. a black SUV. one of my friends starts firing at the car, almost being run over. the four of us shoot out the tires, and the car stops. we all keep firing and move closer. i run up to the passenger window, and another friend runs up to the driver side. we both unload into the driver, when BAM! the car is gone. we knew it was a hacker, and swiftly left to avoid the hacker's ALT+F4 revenge.

so why is this significant? there were only six people on the server. us four, the hacker, and the owner. so 1/2 of the other people on the server were hackers. ONE HALF. i am now terrified to go into the 30+ player games. this was also the first hacker i've seen, and to see them on such a low population server is ridiculous. hacking really IS out of control.

yeah, i know, weird. i've been to maybe forty or fifty spawns across hundreds of servers, and still nothing. so technically, i've never seen a legitimate car in dayz in over three weeks of survival. not even a bike.

I only just found a car a couple of days ago, or rather a bus, first time I have seen a working vehicle in the 30 days of this life, and all previous lives. And it was stashed behind some trees in the wilderness. Since that's what happens to all vehicles. Other than that, I found a repairable truck just before finding the bus at its proper spawn location but didn't bother with it. And before that I have never seen a non-working or working vehicle, or seen anyone driving a vehicle.

They are rare, groups tend to repair them and stash them away so nobody else can have a vehicle, too rare in my opinion.

I wouldn't be too surprised, due to vehicle hoarding, if a player hasn't seen a single vehicle.

Especially on a high population server.

I had a pretty weird trip in yesterday. I ran into a building on the coast hiding from some zeds chasing me and found 4 heavily armed dudes inside standing on the railing around the top story or the building. All four of them were kitted out. They all had all the survival gear, knives, compass, maps, night vision goggles, the works. All four had that nice high end sniper riffle with the scope and silenced hand-guns. I tried talking to them but all four just stood there, not moving saying nothing. After a few minutes I put two and two together and figured they were hackers so I tried to kill them since they were lagging the server being there AFK like that. I shot each one of them in the head 3 times with their own guns and none of them could die. All four were in God mode.This was on a server with over 20 people. I also heard a vehicle drive right past me as I was running down the road but couldn't see anything, which was kinda scary.

I'd like to hope there's not a group like that on every server, but I don't know there isn't for sure.

As for other vehicles, I found a jeep parked at a castle one time. No one was around so I hopped into it and went for a drive which was fun.

Some private hive servers have extra vehicles enabled. Don't agree with this but although they are technically illegitimate in the game, it might not have been hacked in.

Ironically I have never been hacked.

And I've been to plenty of both full and low population servers from all over the world, US, DE, FR, SE, UK, RU, etc. Not a single hacker have I seen.

Battleye updated today, and I keep an eye on the hacker forums. A lot of bans, and the script detection isn't up to date. Hopefully battleye can keep up with any other updates.

it's rarer for me to have a play session where I *don't* see a hacker. And I'm not talking about hacked in gear, I'm talking about blatant teleport hacks.
