Killed by a hacker?

Hello!

I haven't experienced any hackers during my time on DayZ. But just minutes ago I got killed out of nowhere.

I was lying under a spruce with my ghillie suit, close to invisible with 9.5k blood. Suddenly - Dead. Didn't see a person anywhere around (I had good vision) and didn't hear a gunshot.

I'd love to hear your professional opinions... could it have been a hacker? Or can you die in another ways? I was kinda like, crawling around in the tree - could that have been the reason I died? e.g. The bug where you can get killed by doors, etc.

You may have been headshotted.

But from what you say I'm betting it was a hacker script killing people.

Usually, headshots you die instantly so no gunshot usually. They may have had the thermal scoped rifle. Which being in a ghillie is useless against. And they may have had a ghillie too. You passed him. he had a SD weapon . You dead.

Nono, not at all. Just got so shocked that I was killed out of nowhere. But I was on a low populated server, about 10 players, in the woods. Not very likely that you get run into someone in the woods when you think about it. Oh well, I hope it was a clean kill. Props to that guy.

It happens, not everyone who kills you is hacking. Some of them just lie in bushes in a wookiee suit like you, some of those people also have their detail set to nothing and/or have an L85 for scouting.

You always hear the bullet that kills you. If not the shot itself then at the very least the sound of it hitting you. I have yet to die from a shot I wasn't aware of and I've died... well, a lot.

Got in another game (third time so far the past 2 days) where these hackers pulls everyone to them. I guess they were a clan/team.. They were all dressed the same in black. Huge explosions. Looked like they were blowing up a heli since I saw parts of it flying everywhere. I ran away in time before one of them killed me. So I was just watching from a distance. Figured they would get me either way somehow. So decided to just walk up to them and started looking through the dead players backpacks. Then I got shot lol...
