Shameless bump.

Hey guys! I have no idea if this is causing the problems, but I believe it's the Arma 2 OA Beta patch. It looks pretty much just like the Arma 2 HUD, the only difference is that it's green. It doesn't work properly and all my gear in my "active inventory" is gone when I log on to a new server. I think I somehow got it when I tried Lingor Island. How do I disable it? Me and my two friends spawned in Cherno, and decided to take a trip to the north side of the map. We found some starting gear and supplies in Cherno and Balota airstrip, and went straight for the NWAF. While spending time getting kneecapped by other players, we managed to stay alive. Luckily we had plently of morphine and blood bags with us, so we continued walking to the NWAF. Not far away from our destination, we found a heli crash site, and the adrenaline started pumping! Quickly we eliminated all the zombies and was soooo excited about the loot..... All to be found was empty tin cans. This was the first heli crash site we've ever seen, so we got pretty bummed out. But we carried on, and struggled ourself into the airfield. Wait.... ANOTHER HELI CRASH SITE? Maybe we'll get lucky this time? We quickly killed all the zombies and just meters away from the heli... " SESSION LOST ". I cannot describe the rage. We were looking for the same server in the launcher for ages, but we couldn't find it. " ALRIGHT, WE'LL JUST HOP ON A SERVER, GET THE LOOT, AND GTFO ASAP! ", my friend said. We got on another server, and after 5 seconds on, standing on the runway - BAM! Got shot in the head by a sniper, and my friends died shortly after. A fun experience, but the worst 2 hours of my gaming life.

Nono, not at all. Just got so shocked that I was killed out of nowhere. But I was on a low populated server, about 10 players, in the woods. Not very likely that you get run into someone in the woods when you think about it. Oh well, I hope it was a clean kill. Props to that guy.

Hello! I haven't experienced any hackers during my time on DayZ. But just minutes ago I got killed out of nowhere. I was lying under a spruce with my ghillie suit, close to invisible with 9.5k blood. Suddenly - Dead. Didn't see a person anywhere around (I had good vision) and didn't hear a gunshot. I'd love to hear your professional opinions... could it have been a hacker? Or can you die in another ways? I was kinda like, crawling around in the tree - could that have been the reason I died? e.g. The bug where you can get killed by doors, etc. Thanks, Sewly

Yes. Deer stands and barns are good for finding weapons and supplies. The firehouse in elektro is awesome after you've got killed and lost your gear, kinda risky though. e: Caps lock for voice chat.

Feels the same for me. Still kinda easy to out-run zombies in the woods and in the cities.

Is hackers a big problem on the US servers (or wherever you play)? I mostly play on nordic servers and I haven't seen a single hacker with approx 50h gametime.

First time I opened the game, I spawned in elektro. I ran straight for the church, finding a guy with a M24 aiming at me. I told him that I would keep my revolver down, and that I was just looking for drinks and ammo. When he lowered his sniper I filled his body with bullets, and he was dead. Man... I felt so horrible after that. I gave the sniper rifle to my rl friend and I actually aggro'ed zombies to get me killed. I couldn't stand the same. I felt dirty. Ashamed. ...damn. What I'm trying to say with my little anecdote is that I never trust another player, because there's people like "my old me" out there. I've stopped shooting at people if they don't threaten me.

+1 Extremely annoying when you're all geared up and then get a stupid one-shot knock out from a zombie. Should take a little more effort from a zombie than one hit to knock you out tbh. I feel like I always have to have more than 9k blood, else I'm screwed :/

I agree with you, sir. OnT: I'm not quite sure why people keep bitching about "trusting a guy" then get killed by that player. It's a survival PvP shooter. Players kill other players to increase their chances of surviving for a longer time. YOU have to make your choice to trust, or not to trust other players. That's just how the game works.
