BattlEye Kicking, won't update to 1.17 after manual install

Recommended Posts

I've tried the Verify Cache method by doing the following:

1a (if applies) exit steam

1b run steam as administrator

2 Library > Arma 2 > Properties > Local Files > Verify Cache

3 receive message "1 file failed to verify..."

4 Repeat step 2 with Arma 2 OA

5 receive message "1 file failed to verify..."

6 Run Arma 2 & close, run arma 2 OA & close

7 close everything, access desired server from sixlauncher

Didn't work. Servers would still tell me I had the previous version (1.16) of battleye

I've tried manually installing by doing the following:

1a (if applies) exit steam

1b download Client and Server (32bit for me) here: http://www.battleye.com/download.html

2 Computer > Local Disk > Program Files > Bohemian Interactive > ArmA > Expansion > BattlEye

3 Delete & replace new Client/server dlls

4 Return to Program Files, go to Steam > steamapps > common > arma 2 > battleye

5 repeat step 3

6 Return to common, go to common > arma 2 operation arrowhead > expansion > battleye

7 repeat step 3

8 close everything, access desired server from sixlauncher

Also didn't work. Servers would, yet again, tell me I had the previous version.

I tried re-installing battleye from steam by doing the following:

1a (if applies) close steam

1b open steam as administrator

2 go to library > right click arma 2 > "re-install battleye anti-cheat"

I receive a message that says "this game is currently unavailable. please try again at a different time". Same thing happens when trying with Arma2 OA

I am at a complete loss. Please help me.

EDIT:

  • I'm running Win7 32bit.
  • I don't know how to check what version of the game I'm running
  • I own both Arma2 and Arma2 OA via Steam
  • I connect via the Sixlauncher
  • I'm hoping very much to avoid having to uninstall and reinstall because it took me a very long time to download the game (4 days) in the first place
  • I started having these problems with the update on the 25th of June

Launch arma 2 OA as combined operations, have you tried that? (Right click ArmA2 OA, Launch as Combined Operations in Steam)

Lanch as CO, exit the game, then join a server using SIX.

Your not supposed to launch arma2 and arma2 oa, just combined operations after integrity verifying.

If that doesnt work, put the BE dll's in Common -> ArmA2 OA -> Expansions -> Battleye

Make sure the server you are trying to join currently runs the same beta version as you have installed. 95389 is probably it.

When I try to launch from the in-game server list, I click join and nothing happens. (EDIT: This is screenie is from when I launched Combined Ops) Here's a screenshot:

You can see I'm trying to join US 448, because that's where my friend is currently playing. (Although I have this problem no matter what server I try to join.) I'm not sure why it's saying I don't have the most recent version. Is there a way to force update with steam?

EDIT: I'm not sure why %7Boption%7D tags aren't working properly. Doesn't %7Boption%7D tags force the direct url to show an image rather than text? I used a direct url too...Weird board software.

Launch ArmA2 OA Combined Operations trough steam (Right click Operation Arrowhead and choose Combined Operations)

Then exit the game.

Navigate to Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta

Launch the arma2oa.exe, and try to find a server manually from the ingame list.

If error still occurs

Try to download and manually install the ARMA2_OA_Build_95389.zip

Then navigate to Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta

Launch the arma2oa.exe and try to find a server manually again.

Still, make sure the server you are trying to join are running the 95389 patch.

If problem persists, i will try my best to help you out.

I had this problem, where i got kicked by battleye when logging in to a server. That should be fixed by one of the troubleshooting steps mentioned in this thread. The best steps to take is:

Validate both arma2 and oa

Launch as combined, then exit

use sixlauncher to find your prefered server / or navigate to the beta exe in your expansion/beta folder and find a server manually.

If you get kicked while ingame due to battleye not updating, you should only download the lastest client and server dll from battleye.com and put it into your Operation Arrowhead/expansion/battleye folder

1) I exited steam and reloaded it as administrator

2) I launched arma 2 Combined Ops and exited at the main menu

(Was I supposed to exit steam as well at this point?)

3) I went to Steam/steamapps/common/arma 2 operation arrowhead/expansion/beta ad launched it from there

3b) I got the error popup: "No entry '.profilePathDefault'. Game still continued to load.

4) I tried to join Us 1075

5) I received "BattlEye Initialization Failed"

I'm currently trying the second suggestion you offered.

EDIT: As for your second post, I think I've tried what you already suggested there (both validating and manually updating BattlEye). Was there some way that the steps I listed in my first post differed from what you suggested in post #5?

I installed the patch manually and went to open arma2oa via the steamapps/common/arma2 operation arrowhead/expansion/beta folder.

I tried to access US 1075 again for consistency.

I received the error message "Battleye initialized failed"

I greatly appreciate the help you've given so far but do you have any other ideas?

Bump.

I followed your instructions to the letter (I realize how it differed from my first post) and I still get the "cannot update" message.

Also bump.

http://dayzmod.com/f...beta-patch-fix/

Thanks to following the instructions here (which were slightly different than what I tried so far) it seems to be working for now. At least, I no longer get the BattlEye out of date message. Now I'm suffering from load stalling...but at least I don't have to worry about BE for the time being. Small blessings, right?

Thank you again Dannyboy for all your help.
