I have both, each with three mags. Which one should I keep and which one is expendable?

I'm leaning towards the M4A3 because of the flash light, but the misaligned sights using SD rounds is kind of annoying.

It has more common ammunition.

And i do like the flash as well

Really? That's a huge difference. I didn't notice it because its still 2 hits to kill a zombie.

The misaligned sights due to SD rounds is because they spin at a slower/weaker velocity - this means they drop faster than a normal round. Stanag rounds are much easier to find, stick to them anyways. I prefer the M4A3 CCO, reasons; full auto is much more accurate, better precision sight, night time capabilities, more compact and better accuracy at range, and best of all - a fuck ton more rare. :)

M4A3 has a better sight, common ammunition, a flashlight and higher damage. A obvious choise for me.

Meh, I'll list a few pros and cons of the M4. The AK has a lot of the same pros and some other cons. If you're really interested in finding out, I'd suggest doing some looking on both of the guns on the DayZ Wiki

M4 Pros:

• Low recoil
  
• Low sound
  
• Quick fire rate
  
• Ammo is easily found
  
• Ammo is universal (STANAG SD. and STANAG)
  
• Accurate up to about 250 meters, in which case the bullet drop is pretty minimal
  
• Very good for zombie takedowns (dot sight allows for easily aimed headshots)
  

Cons:

• Can take many shots for a kill in PvP
  
• The sound can be heard by players from quite a distance
  
• Not ideal for long-range engagements
  
• Better weapons that take the same ammunition can be found very easily
  

Not sure why I compiled it like that... Guess I was bored xD

Anyways, maybe it'll help you pick. The AK is an okay weapon, but the recoil is pretty hardcore. If I had to pick, it would definately be the M4A3 CCO

I think you'll find that the shots go above the sight when SD rounds are loaded.

M4A3 CCO, easy. Any of the M4s would be better than the selection of AKs imo.
