Shity Flashlight on Makarov

Recommended Posts

I don't see why this would be a bad idea. Would solve the problem of night being a bitch to play in.

Hazdude, yeah thats why i started this thread:) Flares can only take you so far and it is to dangorus to run whit them as people can see you very easily and zombies will react.

I know flashlights can be seen by folks easily most of the times but still, you can turn it off and on, and do not really know how zombies react.

Mabey add batteries as possible loot so you can put in the flashlights?

The dev(s) are already working on getting flashlights to work without them being a separate secondary weapon.

How would that be different from carrying a flare with your gun?

I have posted on this topic already, http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=6283

Basically, I think the player should start with a flashlight, but I don't think it should be attached to the makarov. Just start them off with the current flashlight, but put it in their backpack. The flashlight fits in well with DayZ; it is more realisitic that someone would have a flashlight lying around their house than road flares. Also, the limited nature and light provided by the flashlight would create a more claustrophobic and scary atmosphere.

It would be great if rocket would reexamine the starting gear.

I'm not sure about giving the makarov a flashlight, but there should be small flashlights that we can find that we are able to hold while using a pistol-much like how you can hold a flare and your gun at the same time, except you'll be able to turn off/on your flashlight at will.

Considering that there are small AA-battery powered LED flashlights today that give off more than enough light to see effectively at night, this is a pretty reasonable suggestion.

The larger, secondary slot flashlight could still have a purpose in groups though, as it could give off more light and be used to illuminate targets for the rest of your squad.
