Bal Sofs Tihl 7 Posted May 25, 2012 How does that give an advantage to people who don't play very often?
m.p0v3y@gmail.com 0 Posted May 25, 2012 If no negative effect are incurred while offline then the advantage is with those who don't play very often. This would make for extremely poor gameplay. How? Ill try to explain why this is not true.As it stands nowGuy 1 logs on once every 4 days when he logs in he eats 1x food and 1x water to bring himself up to 100%. Guy 2 logs on once every day, in the same 4 day period he will need to eat 4x food and 4x water to keep himself at 100% hunger and thirst. Result = 3x food and water advantage to guy who logs on every 4 days (and the advantage increases every day he does not log in).The way you propose to have itGuy 1 logs in after 4 days and continues with his adventure.Guy 2 logs in once every day for 4 days and continues with his adventure.Result = Guy who logs on once every 4 days has lost his advantage. Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion and interpretations of the games mechanics and will see advantage/disadvantage where they want to see said advantage/disadvantage.My personal opinion is that as it is a persistent world it is logical that you will be hungry and thirsty when you log back in. I also like to think that the character climbs into the trees or into a closet when you log off that sort of explains why the zombies and bandits did not get you. Haiiro 1 Posted May 25, 2012 I don't want to be punished because I'm. A casual gamer. If your affected off line I would be forced to play all the time...No you wouldn't... You'd have to eat and drink when you log back in, maybe do some other stuff depending on how it would be implemented and expanded upon. Does it force you to be online 24/7 ? No, at best you'd have to alter your route when you login to go look for some supplies a bit sooner then you thought. Also, casual gamers are not the core demographic of this mod at all. Saying that we should cater to their needs is like saying all the zombies should be replaced by pretty little flower men who merely want to hug you and replacing the guns by rainbow machines because one day one or two kids might play this game.If you're a casual gamer then that's fine, you have all rights to be one but then stick to casual games and don't expect a mod of a realistic war sim game that tries to bring a realistic zombie apocalypse survival experience to hold your hand and walk you through the game on easy mode. Joe Beans 32 Posted May 25, 2012 Lol some of us have to work as well anyway I like this mode and as long as I don't die for not logging on I'm cool with it
Bal Sofs Tihl 7 Posted May 25, 2012 If your status does not deteriorate while offline, the person who plays more will have to eat more food, but he is also going to find more food. The person who plays less will have to eat less, but he will also find less to eat. He will also find less guns and ammo and tools and etc etc. With offline status deterioration, the person who plays more and person who plays less have to eat similar amounts, but the person who plays more is going to find substantially more food. So, in the first scenario, there is no advantage - both players are on equal footing. The latter scenario gives advantage to people who can play more. Haiiro 1 Posted May 25, 2012 No, they won't have to eat similar amounts. If you're offline for 4 weeks you'll still only have to eat once when you login to be fully fed...

If you can only play for 20 minutes then you should be looking for food and water not trying to leg it to a new location or hunt bandits, food and water only until you get some, you know you are going to be hungry and thirsty when you log back in so it should not be a surprise or shock.
