I hear flys but see no body.

ok over the past couple nights I've heard flys, searched for the body and there's nothing. Last night I killed a Bandit and while trying to loot him his body sunk in the ground like when you hide a body. Still heard the flys but I couldn't loot him anymore. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

If you hear flies and see no bodies it's likely a player who's body has been hidden.

As for the body sinking in the ground when trying to loot, that's the first time I've heard about. Probably a bug?

Same thing. Today after I died I was running around and heard flies in about 5 completely different locations, yet found no bodies.

Yup, that whole fly-sound-no-body thing is really annoying! Got me walking in circles just trying to loot.

I've experienced the same thing. In fact it seems that I hear flies at somewhat regular intervals.

It could be part of a yet to be fully implemented feature. Perhaps Rocket is planning on adding a requirement that survivors bathe periodically (you have to remove all your gear and submerge in water) and the fly sounds indicate you need to bathe. If you don't take care of personal hygiene, you'll get sick more easily.

Also happened to myself and a friend. We head several flies but no body's. And later, we killed 2 bandits and while we were looting their corpses, their body's just sunk into the ground for no reason. :|

Happened to me last night. I had a rash of horrible desync I was unaware of. Climbed a deer tower. Suddenly many zombies are in the deer tower with me. Somehow they knock me through the solid part of the tower. I break my legs, go unconscious, begin bleeding, and die on the ground. Come back and the fly noise, but my body is gone.

The whole time I was traversing back the area was guarded by friends to insure it wasn't looted. It just vanished.

This was on US Hardcore 3. I also killed another survivor (who had been shooting at me) on a hill and his body remained standing for 2 minutes (dead) with the fly noise and dead textures. It disappeared shortly after.
