polar (DayZ) 5 Posted August 1, 2012 (edited) Hi guys,I think it should be an interesting feature to implement as it can solve the death loot problem partially. Player zombies will be controlled by AI and runs far away.Moreover, it adds more fun that you can run into a random player zombie, kill it and get some nice loot. For loot balance, player zombies should drop their gears one by one so that you won't find everything he got before death. This also deals with performance issue as player zombie despawns after all his gear is dropped.Do you think this is a possible option?Thanks!PS: Bandits can loot victim's body as it only turns into zombie after few minutes.And maybe this should only happen for players ever wounded by a zombie before. ooTITANoo 4 Posted August 1, 2012 I'm gonna assume only people who die by zombies would get this fate and Idk about most players but I really only ever die from other players. And most people that do die from zombies are probably new spawned, which wouldn't have any loot worth getting anyway. Cool idea but I don't think its very practical for gameplay. Also, there should be a chance when getting bit to actually get sick with the virus, sort of like when you get the cough and need antibiotics, except for this, there will be no cure, you will gradually just have your blood drip away until you become one. Partywaffle 24 Posted August 1, 2012 (edited) It would make no sense if you were killed by a bandit or survivor and turned into a zombie.If you received an infection from a zombie bite/scratch, and died before you cured it with antibiotics (by a player) then it would make sense.However it would also be dumb to become a zombie if you were shot in the head.I feel that if it was death by zombie it would be more plausible, but the zombie bugs/glitches should be fixed first.Also the player shouldn't be punished so harshly for dieing from a zombie, and the zombie should just hold the gear, look like your player, stay in the same area, and not despawn. How about a body is dead up until a certain amount of time; say 20 minutes. After that time, the player's corpse becomes a zombie with a 40% chance of looting when said zombie is killed.It would be pretty cool seeing a survivor zombie limping around in the distance! It should, however, only be a player that was killed by a Zombie related incident.or also the bodies could stick around for some time prior to the bodies disappearing, and blood could attract more zombies. once they eat part of the dude the dude could get infected and become a zombie. also it would be good to change the 'hide body' option to 'burn body' to prevent dead players from becoming zombies.
