Lord Fartus 61 Posted August 1, 2012 Now, I'm sure that someone has brought this up prior to me but I really had no interesting in finding it and in short, fart. Anyway, this is more of an issue for fresh characters but does anyone else feel that the zombies are a tad bit overzealous? The fact that they will almost indefinitely chase you unless obstructed by their own wonky behavior is quite the nuisance. I had a single zombie chase me from the far left edge of the map, all the way into cherno....which if you think about it, is hilarious but done to prove my point. . mcdili 4 Posted August 1, 2012 Zombie see's food, the zombie will chase it. It would break the immersion if Zombies just stopped after a while. Shoot them in the leg and run away.

TheLonelyFrog 4 Posted August 1, 2012 It's really exciting for me when I have to run around fences to break a zombie's line of sight, or if I have to run into a church and lay down on the sides as zombies shuffle up and down the aisle, or if I have to run to the nearest stand of trees to lose a zombie.Really, it only makes sense that a zombie continues to chase you if you run down the road or in an open field. It's easy enough to lead them through enough obstacles to slow them down, and zombies pose little threat as it is. The real danger in any town is just the trigger-happy players. Zombies are only dangerous if you get yourself cornered in a building.
Tweakie 199 Posted August 1, 2012 They are zombies, they want to eat your brain...I feel they are just about the correct amount of zealous. And they are suppose to be more than a "nuisance", they are suppose to be a threat. But the fact is, right now zombies are still balanced around the very simple problem: "zombie AI, can't run inside a house" which makes them extremely easy to line up and kill. And you even have the Line-of-Sight mechanic. Zombies are very easy to deal with. The only threat is their tenacity and speed.Yes the mechanics of them, might be annoying for new players...but within your first week of playing, you should have broken the cypher and except for the odd Mike Tyson falcon punch KO, zombies are not a big problem anymore.
Lord Fartus 61 Posted August 1, 2012 They generally aren't a problem. However, aiming at a teleporting magical zombie is an issue. Which brings me to my next point, I find it odd that 95% of my zombie kills are done with melee weapons, that oddly enough have a reach of about 10 feet. I mean since this game is based on the concept of "realism" and "survival" you'd think that having the proper hit mechanics would be a big thing to focus on. The hit detection is an abysmal failure and unfortunately, I don't see a mindless zombie chasing someone indefinitely. Especially in the open country. If anything, melee combat should be introduced to the game to at least remove the common zombie pest. However, I am a HUGE fan of getting hit by a zombie that is several yards away from me, causing me to bleed out just after spawning. Very cool.
unconsciousobjector 69 Posted August 1, 2012 Better yet just find a pine tree (the kind that has foiliage nearly to the ground) tuck yourself into on your ass it and watch the Zeds wander off. Works like a charm.Even if they are right on your ass, they'll lose interest immediately. Weird they can spot you from 600m out but, can't do nothun if your hugging a small pine tree. Literally everytime I've tried to duck out behind something that would break line of site, I was falcon punched by a zombie and killed.
